"All this means Views is the first real disappointment from one of hip-hop’s best Big Album artists. His previous three records felt like episodic dispatches from their author’s ongoing struggle to juggle his personal life with rap stardom. But with the chapter on his family issues closed, he offers a musical shrug. With nothing potent to write about, Drake ends his fourth studio album on a knowingly defensive streak (“If I was you I wouldn’t like me either”) and the sound of a blizzard. The frozen sonics lead back to the album’s opening effects and the ironically titled first track, a disregarded lesson for its performer: ‘Keep the Family Close’."
What is this jibber jabber supposed to be, a review ?

Brolic... Alcoholics
I didn't take offense to anything

I said something about people posting reviews, claiming it should be shortened and I can't remember

Subject matter variety? :mjlol: every rapper has their pockets of things they are most comfortable making music about

If I wanted different subject matter I would listen to a different artist. This is such a silly criticism

I listen to Drake for Reelationship songs and brag raps and emo introspective shyt

you need to explain this subject matter thing. I don't understand

It's self explanatory. There are actual fans in this thread saying how bland the album is becuz he isn't explorative. But as I've already said, that isn't my biggest gripe. And yes, you took offense when I brought up lack of variety yesterday and you tried to laugh it off like I was asking him to be Eminem. I don't mind Drake. I actually liked Nothing Was The Same. Didn't like If You're Reading This too much tho. And this is just not a good album at all. He could have done better.

So are you going to explain what you mean by subject matter or no?

He isn't explorative isn't the answer...

According to you it isn't the answer.
I need detail...

On a philosophical level, I think the notion of someone thinking a rapper needs to rap about what I want him to rap about instead what's he is feeling passionate about during that recording session is rather ignorant

For me personally this is his career honestly

Same here, I spent the whole summer defending him for him to release this bullshyt. He made a decision that he doesn't wanna go down as a rap great with this one IMO, it all boils down to that line about wanting to retire before 35. He's a talented artist who chose the money instead of greatness, I hope he can live with that decision because I doubt I'm the only fan who he's lost with this weedplate :yeshrug:

This should have been the album with which he was supposed to cement his legacy as an all time great and he opens with "Keep the Family Close" :martin:
