I think the album is good, but it isn't great. What holds it back, is what ultimately holds Drake back as an artist: lack of depth. I find the music to paint more of a picture than Drake's words because of the atmosphere/mood of the production. At this point in Drake's career and for someone near 30, there's not much that speaks of the wisdom or maturity that he's acquired to complement the experiences. It's the same things he's been talking about since Thank Me Later. Take Care still remains Drake's opus.

I wouldn't use "Drake" and "opus" in the same sentence breh.

Same, I can see why people don't like it but I really do. I think it sets the tone nicely as an intro going into the winter songs. When I heard it I knew we were gonna be in for a lot of emotional Drizzy

How do you not check on me when things go wrong?

I'm not a Drake fan really, got into him late with If Youre Reading this (and some Started from the Bottom / 0-100), but it seems like a top 10 song for him. I'm guessing people are finding the song takes too long to start up, but I find the slow build is worth it for the payoff. The drums and horns hitting with "You're so predictable I hate people like you."

Pretty much. Can't count how many times I've seen people say "I'm just gonna wait for it to grow on me". If you gotta do all that you're forcing it...which is understandable cause I want to like this album too.
