both are very good mc's and got rhyme skills. yeah bdk made some music catering to women, but the large majority of his catalog is straight up hip hop. not simp hop. plus he had way more style and charisma than drake which comes off as authentic. drake just seems manufactured. :yeshrug:

lol.. why you gotta be 30+ tho???..

I always say thats what separates the younger generation from the older. Young mufukkas cannot appreciate anything not current..

Not true. Nothing I've heard from him in passing has made me want to go back and listen to his catalogue. I've revisted 90's hip hop even though most of it was released before I was really old enough to be into hip hop.

Sam Cooke got my fave song of all time :banderas:

I ain't a 30+ niqqa. I can't say I've ever played a Big Daddy Kane track in my life.

:whew: u nggaz say some dumb sh!t

If you've never heard a track I don't know what you'd expect. Do you like any of the 90's shyt then? And if you said you liked Sam Cooke then that defeats your original point as he was way before your time, No-one says you have to like Kane specifically or anyone but it's not cause your not over 30 lol.

Young mufukkas cannot appreciate anything not current..

...and they think that's cool, too, like, it’s rebellious and/or otherwise “hip” to disregard history.

It’s sad that those within the younger generation don’t realize that if you don’t know your history you can’t really advance as a culture or race or whatever.

Nah, instead these nikkas be like “don’t nobody care about that old ass nikka” or “he’s old and bitter and just hating” when a pioneer or legend gives their solicited opinion…..

They’ll have their SAME ASS banal, "go-to" platitudes ready, too, on some “he’s just hating because he’s irrelevant and [insert young rapper] is getting money…”

shyt is getting monotonous and is incredibly ignorant...and what's worse is, these dudes REVEL in that ignorance, like taking a stance against anything not current is laudable.

I got to say I've encountered many young people that are real also in their music tastes. I've obviously seen a lot of them who aren't too. But it's genuinely not all, I don't have many people that like Drake but one who does I know he's a Biggie, Mos Def/Talib Kweli, Common, Jadakiss and artist like that head. He's the one who put me on Drake properly actually and I thought he was wack immediately but I was open minded so I kept listening as I like to have an overview of everything I can but I can't feel him at all. I also know people 18 or under that hate Drake's music and think he's garbage and fukk with music like KRS-One, Rakim, Pac etc. I'm not old myself, it aint' about old school or new school it's about true school. And it's a baseless argument really if you really break it down, I like Jay Electronica, Reks and artists like that who aren't really vets in terms of material released.

I see a lot of very young kids like Drake cause it's the fad, they don't know any better.

Normally when I show some younger people some dope Hip Hop they feel it and in time release how wack what they listened to was lol. That's happened numerous times, and not from me pushing nothing on them, just letting them hear some of the dope shyt they themselves come to that conclusion/opinion.

This track right here :blessed:

I was out with my sister once in Leeds (northern england). We stopped by a shoe shop then this beat came on :gladbron:
Right on cue the saxes come in and Im already hitting the :stylin: on the shop floor rapping line for line

"come get some, you little bum
I take the cake but you can't take crumb
from the poetic, authentic, superior
ultimate and all that good shyt"

Cacs stood around all :dwillhuh::dahell::what:

But fukk 'em it's Kane brehs, he wins this easily.

it was a beautiful moment.
