Underrated because he's clearly influential, even before his death.

Overrated because despite his influence, he's kinda wack to me and all the nikkas that are so called copying off him seem to do it better and now that he's dead people are rightfully putting more of a spotlight on his influence.

Those two factors kinda neutralize each other IMO

Death tends to do that. Rappers that had a moderate buzz while alive often get far more acclaim posthumously, often undeserved.

Are you sure Drakeo ain't the one whose music sounds like it's heavily NorCal influenced??

A lot of these SoCal rappers basically jacked NorCal's sound over the last several years.

For one, I'm not really speaking for the masses but even if I was, there are a lot of people who credit him for this current wave of west coast artists. People said a lot of Kendrick's GNX was Drakeo coded.

That certainly makes a difference in how he's remembered especially since he died.
