I think everyone's opinion on QM's voice is based on the fact that most people first heard it on reference tracks and compared it to the final tracks with Drake on em. So it hurts your ears to hear what sounds like a reference or demo track voice. He's cursed now because of the reference tracks being leaked and Drake using up all his creativity first. Someone who didn't know better would think he's copying Drake when he created that whole style.

It's also not spoken word, there's so many underground rappers with great lyrics who just can't cut it cause they lack all the intangibles. Voice, flow, cadence all these things play a huge part in making a great rapper. Even a dude like Talib Kweli who ended up having a lot of success couldn't quite make it to the upper echelon in terms of commercial success because he had a weird voice and a downright bad flow, great lyrics though. And he only made it to where he was cause of Jay saying, "if skills sold truth be told, I'd probably be LYRICALLY Talib Kweli."

Im with @SirBiatch on this one. He's obviously got bars and a good pen but there's more to it. His voice and delivery is...lazy.

His lyrics sounded much better with Drake
