Then what basis do you have to say the West is so much better? The overwhelming majority of these teams don't meet in the playoffs to prove it one way or another. The only interconference mingling that we see is the Finals. Since the Lakers and Spurs ran roughshod over the whole league there have been 13 Finals played. East won 6. West won 7. Some east teams have run though the conference. Some have been tested. Some west squads have run through the conference. Some have been tested. So where is the big difference? People usually like to use regular season records but you have dismissed them (and I agree) so what are we going on here?
