Forget the rapping...Compton's production is so pedestrian compared to Dre's other shyt. It's not even the best produced album of the year, or top 5...

compton as a whole project was a pile of hot shyt. it had some cool moments with some beat switches here and there but that album was a pile of hot shyt and forgettable. shyt, his aftermath compilation was better than that shyt. that's how bad compton is

What do you remember about Doggystyle's production?
[It] was was pretty much luck. Everybody thought [Dr. Dre] would be doing the records, but Daz pretty much did the whole album. And at the end of the day, once Daz finished it, everybody wanted Andre to get the credit. Next thing I know Daz is having a meeting with Andre and them and came back and said, "It's okay, give me a few bucks and I'll sign anything over that says produced by Andre instead of me."

"Ain't No Fun"… one of the homies from The Swans [ed note: the Mad Swan Bloods, or MSB, are a Los Angeles subset of The Bloods street gang] named Pooh, all them dudes already had a record done. And they came and played it for us in the studio. They played us the demo. Everybody looked at it like it was alright. And then after they left, shyt, everybody was chopping that same beat.

i remember this interview from a couple of years ago
was this ever in an actual rollingstone magazine issue or was it just an interview released online? i'd find it hard to believe it was never in magazine or paper form

:mjlol: anyone believing Suge about anything

to be honest, i really don't doubt that daz did do a lot of the production for album and didn't really receive the all of the credit he should have

bruh was young, stupid and naive. he probably thought he was good so long as he got paid for his work. i doubt he knew shyt bout publishin' and all of that. i doubt he was thinkin' 20 years down the road, let alone 5 years down the road when it came to proper points and credit and all of that shyt

it's a shame things ain't work out so that daz could've really continued to shine as a producer well into the 2000s. he one of the few who i think can still put together some good beats/productions yet he's just become more of a hustler with his music and lazy :snoop:

but when you listen to songs like this that still up so well you can't help but think what if daz would've been apart of the the production for the chronic 2001. that album would've been 10 times the album is and this ain't to say it's a bad album but it ain't shyt compared to the original chronic :whew:

then think about those doggystyle beats/production he worked on along with dogg pound's dog food, pac's all eyez on me and then his own 1st 2 solo albums which are underrated as hell :wow:

the minute you hear the bass come in on this muthafukka though:lawd:

Daz was still under contract at Deathrow and Suge promoted Daz to co-president of Deathrow operations for a short perios of time when Chronic 2001 dropped. Other wise Daz woulda been a co-producer on Dr Dre's Chronic 20001 instead of Suge's wack ass Chronic 2000 album.
