It was suppose to be called The Chronic 2000

I remember seeing the OG cover on MTV as a kid

Suge released his own Chronic 2000
And Dre made some BS excuse like "this album was ahead of its time so we called it 2001"

Something like that

he named it 2001 because of suge...he didnt want people to get confused which album it was so he named it 2001

You're both right and wrong at the same time.....

The main reason Dr.Dre called the album 2001 is because Suge Knight
owned all of Dr.Dre's publishing when Dre left Death Row records.

Dre had no choice.......

Dr.Dre has never been in charge of his career . He's rich as shyt , but he has no fukking legacy . Don't write, don't produce . Almost every act signed to His label was just some nikka Jimmy Iovine sent to him on some whatever shyt . Garbage ass headphones too .

They're right breh

Chronic_2000_cover.jpg

Dr.Dre's album was suppose to be called Chronic 2001
he couldn't tittle as ''Chronic'' because Suge own the publishing rights
Dre had no choice but to call his album ''2001'

Of course hard hiphop fans call the album as ''Chronic 2001''
just like the same way some fans call Nas' Untitled album as ''Nygger''
