You think 3rd party support is stronger than ever because they are losing money or breaking even :patrice:

If it don't make dollars then it don't make sense

:blessed:

:wow:
so we're assuming that publishers are making more money than ever? the safest investments ever? or is that something you thought up on your own?

cause it sure as hell doesn't say that anywhere in that tweet.

alternative facts.

:wow:

So you think publishers are putting more of their games, bigger games at that, not just on gamepass but day and date for less money? And getting less value out of it?

You got know problem running with his interpretations in the OP's post though. Because if you did, you could have quoted gizmo who basically said the exact opposite of me.

Instead you quoted mine :yeshrug:

Now you trying to split hairs talking about were exactly :mjlol:

If support for a product is stronger than ever, I can promise you the companies providing the support ain't getting less value out of it now than they did before.

for all we know they were offered more money upfront for gamepass since they can't sell copies on xbox.

how much upfront? who knows. Just another source of profit. Could be 1million, might be 500k.

since there isn't any exclusivity it might be a "fukk it, why not" type deal.

You shyt on everyone else for creating a narrative without anything to back it up.

What makes this any different? There is 0 proof that publishers are making more money than ever being on gamepass.

I'm really not creating narratives, it's part business experience, forecasting and probabilities.

You stuck on the "more money than ever part" as if I'm saying because of gamepass the are going to make the most money that they have ever made via gamepass.

But, that's not at all what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying that some 3rd party games on gamepass will allow a Publisher/developer to be profitable from a game before it even ships. Sells could be wood status, but it also could be one of their most profitable games they made.

Like you said could be a million could be 500k, but what if your game only costed 250k to make?

It's also weird how fixed y'all are "why would they make a Xbox version" it's like y'all seem to think just because there are less Xbox consoles in comparison to others that the sales aren't going to be worth it, and I mean overall that would be a safe bet if you are completely risk adverse and have no room for error.

But realistically it's really not that expensive nor hard to port these games between these systems nowadays. They are all way more similar than they use to be. The exception being the series S making some devs have to work.

Most these publishers know that if they make a game for a platform with 100 million consumers and for one with 30 million users and the game sells 1 million or so copies between the 2 user bases, the console that performed the best might actually be the smaller one, IF they looking at it relevant to the market cap of said company.

The thing is that were marketing and deals come in, just the potential of reaching 100 million users is too enticing for most publishers to ignore.
