Fignter pilot usually arent the ones launching the missiles on target,theres a reconaissance aircraft that has all the intel that usually launches the misiles. Fighter pilots will conduct bombing raids but they wont ever see their victims as the altitude they operate at wont allow them see anything other than buildings. The only time a fighter pilot is fully engaged is during an air superiority battle aka fighter jet vs other fighter jets
