Dru Hill is easily a top 3 R&B group that debuted after 1980. Agree or Disagree?

I break R&B into generations since the sounds were so different. Of their late 90s era? Sure. But they're not Jodeci, Boyz II Men, Mint Condition, New Edition, Guy, or other groups of the early to mid 90s.

I don't compare 60s, 70s and early 80s R&B to the 90s-2000s. All are classic eras of music in their own right.

the temptations = goat r&b group. hands down, bar none

jodeci
guy, off that 1st guy cd alone. that shyt is a stone cold classic

so no, dru hill is not a top 3 r&b group

I was talking more about the R&B groups in the 80s and 90s and beyond. It wouldn't even be fair to compare those 60s and 70s groups because they're on another whole tier above everyone else.

Then specify from the jump.

The Ink Spots were popping in the 1930's and 40's and they too qualify as GOAT irregardless if you've ever heard of them, they influenced the Temptations.

Nah not since the 80's or 90's in my opinion. Solid group, Cisqo would succeed in any era but those cats came this close to  messing up a classic in "the love we had (stays on my mind)"

Automatic points deduction from me

Loved Dru Hill but they were basically offsprings of Jodeci so I can't really put them above them or Boyz II Men. I'd say they got classic singles and their debut was Classic for sure but Top 3 after 1980s? Hell No, Sorry and I love them but I can name 3 RnB Groups better than them from 80's till now. Now of the 90's era, Yes you gotta give it up to Dru Hill and Sisqo did blow heavy with is debut solo so you have to include that in their legacy it's just Sisqo didn't captiolize on his debut success. Even though his 2nd album still went Platinum. Did anyone hear Sisqo's last album last year? I didn't give it a chance and he waited way long, lol:

As far as groups that debuted after 1980 you gotta put New Edition, Boys II Men, and Jodeci above them off top. You didnt specify it was male only so some may put En Vogue, TLC, and Destiny's Child above them too.
