Really dope shyt man. I like the concept and more importantly, the execution of "Dreams and Nightmares". Excellent piece.
But on the real tho if these represent your inner thoughts, you should really go talk to somebody...

sir i do apologize, i didn't see this post, just seen it now...lurking jerking my ego off....hahahaSo many good ones to choose from, but Illusions of Grandeur jumped out at me the most. Heres my breakdown.
-The depiction of a path to greatness/power/royalty only being attainable by stepping over those who have failed before you, coupled with the knives in the back to represent betrayal. No one is trying to assists anyone else to reach this apex, everyone is looking out for themselves.
-Then you have the actual throne itself, which seems to have been abdicated already, so its vacant and ready for whoever can claim it. But the moment one does claim it, he has to fend off attempts at regicide from everyone else who was trying to accomplish the same thing he was.
-Then you have the Crow, a harbinger of death, perched over a hand that is holding marionette sticks that are attached to the crown. I think this is the best part because it ties the entire piece together. You aren't looking at random, scattered survival based chaos. But rather you are looking at orchestrated death.
-The black rose is a nice touch for 2 reasons. The obvious being that it symbolizes death, but not in a violent or hateful way but rather a remorseful, pitiful way. As if all 10 depicted players in this macabre struggle should be pitied for their involvement. As if we (the viewer) should offer them our condolences. The second reason is that the black rose symbolizes anarchy, which plays back into the empty throne.
-Speaking of the 10 (or the 9 + 1 however you want to see it), I'm not sure if there is any significance to the number so i'll leave that one alone.
-The background falls in line with with you would expect to see in a 16th century Cathedral and the way you made the crossing lines instantly gives the feel of a church setting as well. The only time the throne is in the Church is during coronation and knighting, and I assume this is the former.
Putting all of that together, and taking into account the title "Illusions of Grandeur", this is what I think. I see an abdicated throne awaiting someone to take the seat. The illusion is that once you attain this seat (or this status, or this level) in life, everything will be fine. You will have the riches, the power etc that you have struggled so hard to receive. But in reality you are subject to those who fought along you betraying you, those who will come after you betraying you, and the very crown itself controlling you. And in the end, all that waits for you is death. And your death will be pitied by the onlookers who chose never to engage in this struggle for nothingness.
