FWIW Tyus has been deco since he started getting PT

Avg 16 mns, shooting 44% from 3, 3/1 Asst to TO. Not great of course but as a backup PG for a team with a terrible bench (especially since LaVine is starting now), he's been serviceable as a rookie which is good to see

Him and Justin Jackson have fallin out of the first round...just like McAdoo. PLENTY of people thought they'd all be stars.

They were all ranked higher than Grayson. :sas2:

Theo Pinson was NEVER projected first round bruh stop lying.

LOL @ Roy failing to prepare the 70th best player in his class for the NBA :snoop:
nikka really? Ever since he took over he's prepared how many starting players in the NBA? That doesn't have anything to with recruiting? Development? Guys leaving and again effecting recruiting?

Its a bad look. A guy who by all accounts is an NBA level athlete feeling he has no choice but to jeopardize his entire career because he felt that for whatever reason development was impossible is not a knock against HIM. Roy failed him. Its not worth spinning.

Outside of the previous coach's guys, and the class that came on their coattails it's CLEARLY been downhill ever since. So that's Barnes and on - and that's shyt no matter how you cut it. Not one of those guys even looks like they know -how- to improve. That's just insane.

Name a coach that could've improved Tokoto? How about any coach that doesn't throw his team under the bus when things get rough like how he did when we missed the tournament. He couldn't even teach Barnes how to dribble. Hell let's go down the list - Zeller can't even pass or hit a mid-range shot. If he could, he wouldn't be behind a man named Kelly. Henson never learned how to take care of himself and you can't be a pro when you don't maintain your body like one. Ellington, all the shooters really, never learned offball offense at a pro level. Bullock and Green both suffered from that. Marshall was cultivated into being a perfect college level system pg that now can't even get burn in Philly.

I mean wtf is he teaching kids on the court? Answer is nothing that translates to the NBA level.

If he wasn't at a school that recruited by name recognition alone he'd be fukked. I thought you were done defending this guy already

Stop acting like Tokoto didn't improve during his time at UNC. He improved A LOT from freshman to junior season.

I don't defend him when he does dumb shyt but when he's being bashed with such an awful critique, I'll defend him.

Zeller had a VERY good mid range jumper at UNC, I guess it's Roy's fault he misses them now?

Roy got Kendall Marshall drafted LOTTO bruh....LOTTO. Nothing else needs to be said there.

Barnes been in the league 4 years now, how come be still can't dribble?

I guess we'll blame Roy for John Henson's body type too :manny:

Yea bruh, IDK who you arguing with but you right,Tokoto never was a first rounder, ever.

But Roy held him back by not letting him take jumpers all game and trying to get him to play to his strengths. The fukking 70+ ranked player in his class was held back :mjlol:

Maybe if he had listened to Roy instead of trying to argue with what he was being taught it might've worked out different.

@42 Monks just hates Roy and will argue anything against him. In this same thread he says Roy quit on Larry Drew, so that should tell you all you need to know.

And holy fukk. That shyt with Zeller got me mad all over again.

MAYBE Zeller and Barnes would both have better careers if Roy didn't center the offense around creating looks for Zeller. He doesn't know how to run PnR or what a release jumper looks like because Roy was giving him clearouts that he'd never see again at any level. Barnes, today, can only dribble and facilitate when no one is looking at him.

Early development for guys cannot be understated. If you don't learn certain things before that 3-4 year post highschool window your foundation for making progression past that is basically nonexistent. Roy is forcing kids to play into his scheme and comfort zone, blames them when they don't, and doesn't teach then how to be pros.

I mean shyt, Kansas brings in better people now.
