Ginuwine´s Old ass would´ve been a decent get. Neyo would be good maybe overbudget Jahiem would be ok too, They probably wanted someone that grandma could twerk to though.

I don´t see why Neo Soul can´t make a comeback, at the end of the day generally the singing was good but the difference is usually they used live music a good band can make a mediocre singer sound good live.

we've seen those branded artists push back against that term that Kedar gave them cause it effectively boxed them in to never get the promo of pop acts....But a lot of those acts from that era make decent/consistent money on the casino/resort circuit.

A dude like Kem, probably doesn't have a high booking fee, and just needs a decent band to put on a good show.
