There are some known history for dunk and egg after the Novellas sprinkled in the main books and the world book world of Ice and fire. After season 3 the writers are going to have to go through those plot outlines and write the characters how they see fit and of course our Boy GRMM gonna have a fit.

We know where they die and how, it's just a matter of plotline, egg was making power moves trying to bring back dragons cause his pro smallfolk rule was causing rebellions. He himself saw many rebellions including the one where his pops got merked(Peake uprising), multiple BlackFire rebellions and the one caused by his son not following through on his marriage pact. A competent writer can write an extra 5 seasons of material with all those rebellions and the great counsel to select a new King and Blackraven da Gawd all in the series doing all sorts of Fukkery. Shyet if the actor is good enough playing Blackraven they could spin off a new series of him at the wall with Aemon.

It depends, if the 6 episodes are actually an hour long and it's crack then I'm fine with it. No filler. These shows are expensive. If there's filler in there then that's another story
