Got any favorites, friend?

The guitar on on Double 07 gets me every time. And than wail at the end...:blessed:

Full Metal is a Full Metal Alchemist (anime) sample if you didn't figure by the title.

shyt I love every beat on there. I was gonna mention some standouts. Smoke Break is the same sample as Erykah Badu's Honey. ALC also flipped the sample for Blood Sweat And Gears for Reks and Styles P before.

Lotta fire on there.

Al is certainly keeping the formula alive and thumping.

I can only think of a hand full of Producers that is keeping that true hip-hop sound with the samples...it's not a lot that has mastered the loop and is able to chop a track up like ALC....I honestly think ALC and Madlib chopped it up a few times in Cali
ever since Covert Coup he had reached a new level in terms of his production....I have to go to Cali :ahh: it's something in the air over there :brr:

Alchemist has mastered "The Loop" :wow:

LOL I remember an old interview where he said he'd hunt for "the loop" like "a hawk taking it's time eyeing its prey and then swooping down to snatch it" for the perfect one. He mentioned We Gonna Make It.

The crazy shyt is he thinks his chopping game is even better. And so do I. I definitely prefer his chops to his loops. It's all great though.

Yeah he's one of a handful to take the boom-bap style and elevate it to some other stuff, mixing in some modern sounds/effects too without overdoing it. It's not bare bones DJ Premier or even a jazzy 9th Wonder style, but it's also not super epic and larger than life like a Just Blaze, or live instruments like Black Milk. You know it when you hear it.

Nottz is another great example of this that really sticks out to me. Jake One, No ID, Khrysis, Ski...Madlib obviously.

I always welcome some new ALC. Going to give this a spin now and see how it sounds, by the reviews in this tread it should be a pleasure!

After 2 listens I'd probably put this at the bottom of the albums Alchemist has done recently

In what order would you rank 'em. Cause I'd definitely put Durag Dynasty above No Idols and Rare Chandeliers. Covert Coup and the Gangrene stuff might have it beat though.

Covert Coup at the top
RC & NI somewhere in the middle
360 at the bottom

Not including any Alc/Gangrene stuff

I've also heard the other 3 a lot more, so it's a little biased
