Bullshyt. And now we using the athletic cop out stop it.
yes, that is exactly what I am using.

Its the truth. Its not an insult because you have to be coached how to play good team defense.

shyt, you just said Durant is a better defender now because of the system he is in at Golden State and who he plays with so miss me with all of that.

He's already a comparable if not better defender and like you said light-years ahead relative to age. Put Giannis on Golden State with a modern defensive scheme with guys like Steph, Klay, Green, Iguodala, Livingston, McGee, Jordan Bell around him, let him be a rim protector next to Green in small ball line-ups, lessen his offensive burden and you'll see what Giannis can do defensively. Kidd is running an aggressive switching, trapping, zone type defense that leaves Milwaukee's susceptible to corner threes and has nowhere near the same defensive personnel working in unison and covering each others weaknesses.

KD joined a 73-9 team he fits like a glove all his strengths are highlighted and his burden is lessened on offense, he can focus on being an All-Around player. It's no surprise he's playing his best defense and having his most efficient seasons offensively playing this unit. I already talked about how his lost ball turnovers have been cut down dramatically. It's truly a cheat code.

Soooo GETTING BACK ON TOPIC lol...

"I've been a scorer my whole life," Durant told ESPN this week. "I've been a one-on-one player my whole life. All I've thought about in the past was different ways to score, rather than different ways to impact the game. Since 2012-13, I've been trying to figure out ways to impact the game outside of scoring.

"Defense started to creep in there probably two years before I got to the Warriors. Defense started to become a focal point for me where I wanted to be trusted. I didn't want to be the guy where all the film clips are about how they back-doored me, or how someone drove around me or how I'm not contesting shots. I was more so just nervous about being called out during film sessions. That's why I wanted to get better.

Per Chris Haynes' story, not only is Durant a better defender, he's statistically the best defender against shots at the rim.

Opponents are shooting only 50.9 percent against Durant within 5 feet of the rim this season, according to ESPN Stats & Information. That is the lowest percentage in the league among players who have defended more than five shots at the rim."

I'm just happy his defense is finally going mainstream. I've literally been arguing with my homies about Durant defense for 4 to 5 years now

KD joined a 73-9 team he fits like a glove all his strengths are highlighted and his burden is lessened on offense, he can focus on being an All-Around player. I. Giannis is NOT a better defender
II. KD was an elite defender during his last two* seasons in OKC - folks forget that he was arguably the best defender in the '16 WCF - better than Draymond, Ibaka and Roberson. It's half the reason his shooting percentages were up and down throughout that series because of his defensive workload.

See -
The fact you think he has the easiest matchup (when OKC has been switching and trapping all series - he isn't just guarding ONE player) speaks volumes.

He's been shadowing Curry and Klay, contesting and altering shots at the rim or on the perimeter, anchoring the paint when he plays at the 5, swarming ball-handlers, switching on ANY player and remaining effective - containing the ball-handler or the roll man, getting back in transition and stopping shots in the first third of the shot clock etc etc. He's been doing it all. He's a large reason why the Warriors' offense has been inconsistent throughout the series.

How Kevin Durant’s Defense Made The Thunder’s Small-Ball Unit So Deadly In Their Game 3 Blowout
How the Thunder’s defense is bringing the Warriors to their knees
The 'D' in 'KD' stands for Defense: Durant's D big in Gm 4
Thunder: Kevin Durant's defense overshadowed by offensive outburst in Thunder-Spurs Game 4
Kevin Durant's Defense Has Helped Take the Thunder to the Next Level
OKC is getting the best out of Kevin Durant on defense, but not on offense

He held opponents to 35% shooting at the rim in the 2016 playoffs (to put it into perspective DeAndre held opponents to 37% on a similar amount of shots defended ATR)
He held opponents to -7.7% under their usual FG% in the 2016 playoffs (to put it into perspective Roberson held his opponents to only -2.3% under their usual FG% on a similar amount of attempts)

Still one of the laziest takes regarding his decision. The team he joined wasn't even the best team in the league that year. Don't know why people try to lean on this take to make it seem like he joined some unbeatable force.
