so lemme ask you this.

when it's all said and done are more people gonna remember rock as a wrestler or as an action star?

are more people gonna remember arnold as the governor of the terminator?

Actor!

You have to remember during this Cena era there is a whole generation of people that only seen him as actor.

So when he come to the E it's like "hey mom, look that's the guy from GI Joe!"

He wrestled like 3 times in 8 years..... His Hollywood hustle is as big as Samantha 3G titties right now

Most people in their early 20s and younger think of The Rock as an actor. Also you have to take into account that he reaches a much wider audience now. There's plenty of people that never followed wrestling at all that know Dwayne Johnson more than they know "The Rock".

right but what do they know of dwayne johnson. is he a household name?

if a complete stranger were to ask you "who is dwayne johnson?"... how might you answer her? pretend you couldn't mention his wrestling career. what movie would you even bring up?

"you don't know dwayne johnson? he's the guy in _____"

^ seriously... WHAT do you say? are you confident that most average everyday people have seen GRIDIRON GANG???

in 5 years is anyone gonna remember san andreas?? does anyone even remember snitch??

or maybe you say... "oh he's that big guy in the fast and the furious movies".

you tell me when he was hotter. as "the big guy in the fast and furious movies" or as the wwf heavyweight champ.

Feel like the more appropriate comparison would be "Are more people going to remember Arnold as "The Terminator" or Mr. Olympia?", no?

you are 100% right.

which do you think.

Terminator. He's the face of that franchise. Went from the pinnacle of bodybuilding to The Terminator 4 years after his last reign.

This discussion with The Rock & being an actor is a bit of redundant in a sense. The WWE is essentially a running program watched by millions of people that he's been a character on for over a decade. He spent most of his younger years with the WWE.
'
Let's say The Rock had left the WWE a little after winning the title and become the face of a franchise like "X-Men" or if he'd been the Vin Diesel role in all of the "Fast & Furious" movies, people would probably be associating him with that by now.

I watched "The Devil Wears Prada" the other night (don't ask) and I'm like, "Oh shyt. My boy Vinny Chase is in this?" :lupepopcorn:

....because that's how I'll always see Adrian Grenier. I didn't even remember his character's name. I'm just like, "How's Anne Hathaway going to do Vinny Chase like that?" :smh:

Robert Downey, Jr. will be the same way to a lot of people.

When it comes down to it.... we never know what career choices these guys will make and what opportunities may come their way that really take them to even higher levels.

Back in the 80's when there was this young cocky cat playing opposite of Cybil Shepard... no one had any idea years later that fukking Hudson Hawk would be this iconic star

No one knew in the early 2000's cripple Jimmy would one day be the biggest artist on Young Money

No one fat Andy from Parks and Rec would be the next big star in hollywood with 2 consecutive record breaking blockbuster movies

And please... not one person here knew in the 90's that Wanda was gonna win an Oscar 2 decades later

Let that boy cook man, dont be a lemon... be a rosebud breh

anybody can fall on hard times

Hammer had one big album..like Vanilla Ice....Rock's first two movies were pure success. Puffy can't say that. Janet Jackson can't say that. Beyonce can't say that. Master P can only DREAM of saying that:laugh:

Rock movies blowing away Manny/Pac numbers in record time...lol. The Rock is bigger than ever...either as Dwayne Johnson or the former, he's basically writing his own checks and now has Eva Marie as a sidekick for the hell of it.

Never thought shots would be thrown at Master P in a thread about the rock:pachaha:

Honestly if the WWE is still as popular or more popular in the future then he probably will be remembered more for being a wrestler. Because of how good he was and what he is doing now they will make sure that you never forget where he got his start. Hes making money right now but is he making classics that people are going to cite 30 years from now? Most people definitely know him more as an actor right now, but I think in the future it might change because of how the E will rush to exploit his legacy when he gets older/passes and hes not making 10/10 movies people are going to be looking up later on.

What a random ass thread tho:skip:

Man op dumb as a motherfukker...its still real to me damnit.

Hate to break it to u but hes wayyyy bigger now

It's why KDT should be the favorite for #wpoty. Ever since Fast Five his popularity and influence has eclipsed anything he's done in the WWE.
