That’s cool and all but the point is the younger fans who didn’t grow up in that era (or even the generation after) aren’t looking at him like that because they didn’t grow up on him. And as generations move on, guys become more distant. It literally happens with everyone in every field of entertainment and sport lol.

Bro....have you ever met Jesus...
:martin:

But you know who he is though right...
You know his impact right...

People's impact and legend ends up being bigger than the shyt they actually did in real life.

Michael Jordans name will always be synonymous with GOAT, BASKETBALL, NBA

there's been no one like him before him or after him

He’s widely recognized as the GOAT now. No current player has established themselves as the undisputed GOAT to take that away. You don’t become the GOAT after you retire

So it will at minimum be another 18-20yrs before anybody takes his place

Were 20+ years removed from the Bulls dynasty and MJ is still a topic in sports discussions, by the mid 90s Kareem's name wasn't even ringing like that. Now part of that is probably due to his relationship with the media, but during the Bulls dynasty Magic and Bird's names got brought up more than Kareem's.

BECAUSE MAGIC & BIRD
DOMINATED THE 80S...
WHILE KAREEM DOMINATED
THE 70S WHO SHARED HALF
OF ITS TALENT WITH THE ABA.

:mjlol:THEY BOTH ALSO SAID MJ
WAS THE GOAT IN THE 80S,
AND EARLY 90S.

HE WON 5 MVPS
IN THE 70S WITH 1 TITLE
TO SHOW FOR IT CASUAL.

THE 70S WAS LOWEST POINT OF THE NBA.

PPL WOULDNT EVEN
PRETEND HE WAS GOAT
IF MAGIC DOESNT BRING
HIM 5 MORE RINGS IN THE 80S.

So he dominated a whole decade.

Most polls would have Kareem over Magic:
3 - Kareem
5 - Magic
Ranking the top 74 players of all time: 10-1

Poll of 117 NBA Players in 2019
  1. Michael Jordan (73%)
  2. LeBron James (11.9%)
  3. Kobe Bryant (10.6%)
  4. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1.7%)
  5. Magic Johnson, Allen Iverson, Kevin Durant (1%)
Anonymous poll of NBA players has LeBron far behind Jordan in GOAT debate

I guess maybe those NBA players are casuals too.

2. KAREEM WON MVP

ON A TEAM WITH A 40-42
RECORD WHICH SAYS A LOT
ABOUT THAT DECADE.

3. DUDE HAD A 10 YR
HEAD START ON MAGIC
AND WOUND UP WITH LESS
FMVPS.

MAGIC LOST MVPS
TO BIRD, MOSES, DR J, JORDAN...

This is a wild and surprising statement. “Way better.” :what: This man is either super humble or straight trippin. I would think prime Wade could hang with the best of the best in today’s game.

Mike isn’t going anywhere. There’s too much footage and his play style is damn near flawless technically and aesthetically. He was fearless and never had a moment where he looked overwhelmed. There are damn near no moments in Mike’s prime where he could be clowned. He was the best player on every team he played on from the minute he stepped in the league til the last dance season.
10 scoring titles (won all 6 rings leading the league in scoring)
DPOY
Career 30ppg on 50% shooting
Dominated his era
The shots, the steals, the moments won’t be forgotten
The Brand

Most people in their 20s and 30s still regard Mike as the GOAT. People weren’t calling Kareem the GOAT 20 years post retirement.(‘08)
