Thats what I'm saying. His only clear advantage over Dwight would be a more advanced offensive game. But he doesn't have that...
What are the odds that he ends up a better shot blocker and rebounder than Dwight Howard? Slim. And D12 will still get you 20 pts a game and can go off for 40+ at times...
If you want a younger/cheaper player it would make sense...but Dwights only 26 himself. Bet case scenario Anthony Davis becomes Dwight Howard...so why risk it if he turns out average like Marcus Camby or something...

Dwight might only be 26, but he's coming off back surgery, so that is a risk. Long term how many more good years does Dwight have left? He's not a 7 footer and everything he does revolves around being athletic, once he loses that athleticism what do you have left?
This isn't Shaq we're talking about, he's the best by default because of the era.
Blake a free agent next season -not sure if wanna sign a long ext with da magic

I also dont think Deron Dwight and spare parts is a contender at all..while theyd be great in pick n roll neither guy really is a player you can give the ball to down the stretch and say get out of the way..
I think theyd be stuck as a middle tier playoff team
That's how I feel, I could see if it were the Bulls trading for him because they have parts outside of what they are giving up that could get it done.
But the Nets would just like the Clippers, two big guys (Humphries/Dwight) clogging up the paint because neither can move 5 feet from the hoop, and a bunch of wing players & no frontcourt depth behind Dwight/Humphries.

Dwight Howard regrets his decision to forgo his early termination option on his 12-13 contract, according to sources
Howard seeks a trade before next season and his camp is applying pressure on the Magic to pursue a deal as soon as a new general manager is in place.
Several GM candidates have been creating trade scenarios involving Howard and proposing them to CEO Alex Marins during the interview process.
