The basketball world had itself a love-fest for Kobe Bryant on Sunday night.

Everyone except Dwight Howard took part in it.

After the Mamba announced that the 2015-16 season would be his last through the Players’ Tribune, Howard was asked about Bryant following the Houston Rockets’ victory over the New York Knicks.

The big man, who clashed with Bryant during his rocky 2012-13 campaign in Los Angeles, wasn’t feeling too sentimental:

Oh,man. Kobe is one of the greatest to ever play the game. He had an amazing career ... it all comes to an end for all of us. He was somebody we all grew up watching. Seeing him go from the afro to changing to another number to all that stuff ... 81 points, he just had a very good career. He paved the way for so many players coming out of high school, and his work ethic, everything that he stands for on the court has been great. For, what, 20 years? That's amazing, to play this game for a long time. I know it'll probably be tough because he loves this game so much, but all of us have to face that reality one day, and I just wish him well.

What he actually said. Again, Rockets have the two most irrationally hated players in the League. nikkas completely twisted his words for the hits and now everyone will run with it. :heh:

Expect post game, baby mama, soft & ringless jokes now.

Norfeast groovin…
imagine if we had signed this nikka?dude is 29 and can't even play back 2 backs :damn:

The dwight situation was really one of the strangest of this era of Lakers basketball. Objectively speaking, I couldn't blame him for not signing with us cuz jim is out of control and sabotages everything he touches. To sign f'ucktoni over Phil when dwight specifically said Phil was some real mind-blowing shyt, so nobody can fault him at all for leaving. At the same time, the idiots in El Segundo dodged a bullet since dwight has been rapidly deteriorating.

I said all along it was probably best for both sides that Dwight left. I just didnt see LA being able to add enough pieces around Dwight to be competitive so they'd just have a middle of the road team. No shade towards Dwight for leaving as basketball wise it made sense for him to leave. Same thing for Lamarcus and Carmelo. LA needed to tear it all down to be able to develop young players on the cheap and then attract the star free agents that compliment those young players. By acquiring a star first it almost kills the chance for having cheap young players.

In retrospect Dwight did the right thing in leaving and the Lakers dodged a bullet in him not resigning with the way his health has declined since the first back injury.
