And how was a flabby Kobe on a shytty roster with a shytty FO and a shytty coach gonna teach him this?

Kobe Bryant was :flabbynsick: the year he played with Dwight?:jbhmm:

If Dwight would've come back a lot of things would've been different from the 2014 season to present, so anything other than them actually playing together is nothing but a guessing game:mjpls:

Kobe beasted the year he played with Dwight by the way:whew:

Did I say or imply this? I was pretty obviously referencing the time since then. If Dwight re-signs you got him and Kobe taking up all the cap space, you still got Antoni coaching and Buss running the show so they probably win a few more games but nothing noteworthy. There certainly wouldn't have been any champion lessons to learn.

Kobe physically killed himself trying to prove it was his team. It was great for his own numbers but that team was a mess. Dwight was never accepted by the fanbase because he was looked at as a threat to Kobe and a flight risk.

You implied a question based on strictly hypotheticals.....I addressed both points in #1 & #2 just to be safe:sas1:

  1. If you were talking about them actually playing together my response was: "Kobe Bryant was :flabbynsick: the year he played with Dwight?:jbhmm:"
  2. If you were talking about hypothetically moving on with Kobe & Dwight: "If Dwight would've come back a lot of things would've been different from the 2014 season to present, so anything other than them actually playing together is nothing but a guessing game:mjpls:"

:sas2:

Being that the answer is #2, you were being hypothetical........my answer stands. If Dwight would've come back a lot of things would've been different from the 2014 season to present, so anything other than them actually playing together is nothing but a guessing game:mjpls:

Nobody thought or looked at Dwight as a threat to Kobe....cut it out Bilz:camby:

Kobe was killed by Mike D'Antoni playing him 40+ minutes per game in back to back games, not because he was trying to "prove it was his team":comeon:

I responded to another poster with the basis of said response being very clear :yeshrug:. Nothing hypothetical about Kobe tearing his Achilles before he left though. Unless you are suggesting that Dwight would have carried this squad to prominence over the last 2 years what are these differences?

The roster....higher quality players would've looked to play with Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol than Jordan Hill and Pau Gasol in the front court.

Also, having Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol at C & PF would've worked out better than Pau Gasol at C & Hill at PF at providing defense and scoring opportunities on offense due to the fact Gasol would've been at his natural position and the fact Dwight Howard is much better offensively/defensively than Jordan Hill is and was.

The team wouldn't have went 27-55 with Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol leading the way. Period.

If you recall carefully, Kobe started the season on a tear, but he broke down in the second half. And eventually he ruptured his achilles and they called a fukking foul on Harrison Barnes for no reason and the lakers got free throws they didn't deserve and won that game the warriors should have won... and yes I'm still mad.

I do recall this....and I agree (except about the Warriors part:umad:.......well, actually I'm the one mad because the Warriors are unstoppable now:mjcry:)

That's why I was saying the whole "Kobe physically killed himself trying to prove it was his team" deserves the :camby:, because it's not true. Mike D'Antoni was playing him an absurd amount of minutes down the stretch and his body broke down. Not because of Kobe trying to prove it was his team.

If Kobe wasnt so busy missing shots he would be here dapping my posts.

Kobe made it clear he wanted Dwight to be his garbage man. Dwight made it clear he wanted it to be his team and that Kobe needed to :camby: The fanbase chose sides accordingly.

And how would they acquire these high quality players with Kobe and Dwight (and Pau too since you mentioned him) taking up all the cap space?

Who is talking about the bolded? :dahell: I am talking about learning how to be a champion. That team wasn't gonna gonna come close to a championship and in turn champion lessons, period.

Bilz, I've grown past the pure stanning/hating that you're doing here:heh:

You said: "Dwight was never accepted by the fanbase because he was looked at as a threat to Kobe"

How was he never accepted by the fanbase because he was looked at as a threat to Kobe?:comeon:

That's a lie and not the truth at all...or even CLOSE to the truth. NOBODY ever looked at Dwight as being a threat to Kobe. Stop it:camby:

Because he wanted to be the boss and threw subliminals at Kobe while doing it. Not sure how you can even question that.

Definitely could've learned how to be a champion
Kobe has never been about teaching people sh!t, breh :smugdraper:
Carmelo, LamarCus Aldridge and many more that could, did what what they could to NOT play with the mofo.

Jordan had a former rival Ron Harper taking paycuts to be his backup. He had Brian Williams taking paycuts to come get some of this ring action. Had Dennis Rodman putting aside his well publicized hatred for the Bull to come get some.
Who has Kobe been able to lure over there?
Malone, Payton and all these guys came to play with Shaq and bounced the minute Shaq left.

Name me another MEGA STAR of his caliber that had more people doing more to NOT play with him. Name them. I'll wait.

Kobe Bean Bryan. Great player? YES no doubt. One of the greatest? Probably. Great teammate/mentor/able to make teammates better? HELL TO THE fukk NO
