Don't see anything wrong with what Wade said. Closest player that is debatable to Kobe is Duncan in the 2000-2010 decade. Duncan was the best big man and Kobe was the best wing player. 
I guess its up to you to who you liked more and preferred, nothing wrong with picking either player. But, if I had to choose, I would go with Kobe. Imo, what gave Kobe the nod was that 2008 series, in which he just merked the Spurs in the WCF, which was from what I remembered the same team as the Championship team from the year prior. And Bean went ham, he avg 29 ppg, shooting 53% going against that Spurs D. Plus Kobe successfully defended a championship he won. But, you could say Duncan has one more MVP, but Kobe with the Lakers made it to the Finals 7 times. But, I honestly have no issues with anyone picking Duncan, even though I hate those boring ass fukk Spurs
