Dying Light was the greatest zombie survival game I've ever played in my life (State Of Decay 2 came after & is in a different subgenre  ). Dying Light 2 was subpar even in it's own genre.

I "copped" Dying Light The Beast on PC and it definitely restores the feeling. Basically an updated version of the first one in terms of UI and aesthetics, but with new missions and sht. Honestly couldn't ask for more but at the same time can't put it above the OG because that's what laid the foundation. If you liked the first one you will enjoy this as well, even at MSRP.

BBG Approved

How is it subpar, really? I know the reviews was less than stellar, but if you've played all three, you should be able to explain why 2 didn't hit as 1 and 3 did/does, 'cause I really wanna play 2 as well and I guess I'll experience it for myself, but just to know what wrong and what to look forward to when I eventually do.

No guns, night provided zero fear factor, story was kinda goofy it just felt like a kinda wack version of Dying Light breh idk lol. I think I beat the game so it wasn't intolerable just a big step down from the og experience. Plus Kyle Crane wasn't the main character which you wouldn't think is a big deal but nah breh it matters when the new guy is lame.

Word.
I like to play games/series on a scale from bad to good, and I wanted to play Dead Island 2, then Dying Light 2, but off the strength of this, I might just get Dying Light 2 out of the way on a sale or something, hopefully enjoy Dead Island 2 since I liked the first 1 and it's DLC, then enjoy 3.
Also, did you play the Dead Island games? Or atleast 2? One was repetitive but enjoyable enough to me and I'm hoping 2 added a bit more variety this time around. Plus it's still on Gamepass so I should get down on that before my subscription expires.

The first Dead Island was my first experience into this kinda game so I may be biased but I fukkin loved it. It was what had me excited for Dying Light. So in hindsight I give Dying Light a 10 and Dead Island a 9. But breh Dead Island 2 is the worst of them all. Absolute ass cheeks. You think I'm kidding look up my gamertag and check my play time on Dead Island 2, I bet it's less than an hour :mjlol: I wanted to like it for nostalgia purposes but nah. I can't even bother rating it because I didn't even give it enough time for a proper assessment.

I would check out Dying Light 2 like you said if it's on sale and your backlog is clear but you really aren't missing out. They got it right with The Beast.

shyt.....'cause we basically on the same wavelength in terms of these games, breh. Dead Island 1 had it's fair share of jank, but I, personally enjoyed it. To the point I beat the campaign with all 4 members, built them up to see/experience their specials and put mad hours into that game before I even played Dying Light 1.
So to hear that 2, from someone who already liked the series is...cheeks. fukk. :francis:
I'll play 'em all at some point, though. Much thanks for taking the time out to respond to my queries.

Does it restore the feeling of the first one?
I haven't played 2, but I heard that wasn't as good, or didn't live up to expectations or something.
We talked about how awesome the first one was 1 and I'm looking to rekindle that magic, with the hopes of this one doing just that.
It does restore the first game's mood. Very tense.
Dying Light 2 was good for what it was, but I think it got shytted on because they took Crane out of that one, but you'll recognize a few names from the first joint.
I still enjoyed the second one, but it overpowered your character too quick.
Not saying it's a bad thing but it took away that tense feeling at night.
I'd still cop though if I were you.

I did try Dead Island 2 and that shyt was ass to me.
Took them that long to come out and they still fukked up the dropkick. Lol

:mjcry: I forgot which game it was, either Dying Light or Dead Island, but I remember utilizing a drop kick to perfection.
But I'm interested in all of 'em and will play 'em all, but it looks like I gotta save Dying Light Beast for last since it's the most polished, it seems.
'cause I really looking to go back to that 'scared but capable' balance the first 1 had.
