Xbots were really saying that. They really really had it in their minds that Xbox was leading this generation somehow. Like whatever direction microsoft goes is the direction a generation goes. Now, they've just lost a generation.

They just need to stop trying to create fukkin AAA blockbuster games all the damn time with bloated ass budgets, that's their problem.That and indie devs need to rise up. Corporations have so much overhead that and indie doesn't have which allows them to put out games cheaper. For tomb raider to sell damn near 4 million and not meet it's expectation if flat out stupid.

Gamers would be just as angry at this proposition. All of the games at the show that are not AAA blockbuster games got immediately discounted by the gaming communty.

MS isn't dragging nikkaz into the future on some ole save gaming shyt, they are being greedy period point blank. They aint foolin no one. They want to try and control shyt and dictate policy on some ole console steam shyt. You gotta take baby steps and not alienate people which is exactly what they are doing with this DRM shyt. Let nikkaz eat offline with no check in at least! If you have to be online, I have no problem with what they are doing. People like ownership of what they have, not "lease" gaming like MS is trying to institute.

They don't get any extra money from an online restriction. The industry as a whole will be better off once the transistion from physical to digital is complete. Xbox 1 bridges that gap. You best believe physical media is out for next "next gen" systems

I was talking to one of my college friends last night here in Portland who is a Software Engineer and he just shook his head at the shyt. He understands that DD is the future and having the "option" is good right now. But to force people to do that shyt and giving no option for offline play without a check in is stupid. People aren't ready for that shyt yet and even moreso, the infrustructure just isn't there yet. You're telling people that "well just get a 360", that is retarded. Every game isn't an online game. People want to play the latest and best games graphically even if they don't have viable internet for online play.

MS could have done this shyt way better and they blew it.

M$ blew the PR fight for right now, but we are still 6 months out from release. A lot could happen in that time. And lets be reality X1 will sell out this christmas regardless of any of this stuff. If they can convince the masses that this is a must-have product they will be fine. If not it will probably take a couple years before the X1 catches on. This console generation will last 10+ years and the X1 is better suited for that fact than the ps4. In 10 years people will probably be annoyed by the fact that you NEED a disc for the ps4.

This is all they had to do fam. PS4 games will be the same where you can install to the HD (optionally) or play from the disc directly, but you still need the disc in the drive or else you would just be able to copy to multiple PS4s with no fukks given.

I imagine a lot (if not all) of games will require an install. among other things, it makes it much simpler for them as far as what's on the disc. just put the data to install the game, and that's it. this gen (360/ps3) was designed to play straight off the disc, and install options came after the fact. but I get the feeling installs will be standard this next gen

You act like even the PS3 doesn't do DD now. Lots of games are available day 1 digi download on there. There will also be options to download all the latest games on PS4 digi if you choose to. It's not MS Exclusive with DD. If you choose to go the DD route, you can switch your games without needing the disc, but if you choose to buy the disc version and install to the HD, you can do that too. OPTIONS!

The only reason they included disc support was to accommodate people with weaker Internet connections. They could have gone all digital. It's these "options" you speak of that are confusing things.

And like i said, both systems will sell out this christmas. Holiday 2014 will be the real test. And believe me if TitanFall becomes a must-play blockbuster like Call of Duty sales for X1 will be great for 2014 as well.
