This is all assuming whoever you draft pans out

You are making it seem like it's a foregone conclusion Wentz or Goff are gonna be franchise qbs
Never said that.. No matter who the guy is
You're assuming positive intent

Even if you draft the next John Elway there no guarantee he doesn't get hurt

You never know.. but you'll never get that guy without taking a chance to when the opportunity presents itself

Part planning part luck

They are on their 4th Head Coach and 4th GM since July 2012. Doesn't take a fukking rocket scientist to figure out they aren't the best-run organization in the league. Hopefully the new regime is better and knows what they are doing, but based on precedent, it's not far fetched to believe they'll fukk things up again.

“I don’t think trading down was the problem,” Brown said during a news conference. “I think it’s just purely evaluating.”

The Browns traded the second overall pick in 2016 to the Philadelphia Eagles and the 12th overall pick this year to the Houston Texans. The Eagles picked Wentz, the Texans picked Watson and they were named the NFC and AFC offensive players of the month for October last week. Watson suffered a second-ending torn anterior cruciate ligament in Thursday’s practice after lighting up the NFL to begin his career. Wentz is a Most Valuable Player candidate leading an 8-1 team.

“You take your hat off to both those young players who are off to hot starts to their careers,” Brown said. “… There’s going to be opportunities that you miss on [in the draft] to add talent to your roster. I think good organizations do go back and look at those decisions and those evaluations. What did we miss? We’re perpetually doing that here internally. What is all the information we had? How did we gather it? Was it accurate? How did we analyze the information and put it all together to come to a decision?

“I don’t shy away from missed opportunities at all. There’s a lot of non-quarterbacks out there frankly that are playing well right now, too, we’d love to have on our team. But we’re not going to get every one right, and we haven’t and we won’t moving forward. We will get enough of them right, and we will solve the quarterback position here.”

But there’s no evidence this regime led by Brown, chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta and coach Hue Jackson can properly evaluate quarterbacks and acquire the right one. The Browns, who have started 28 QBs since 1999, are 1-23 since the trio took control last year.

For what it’s worth, Brown vowed to find a franchise quarterback.

“We work well with the coaches,” he said. “We’ve got good processes with them. As we move through our spring evaluation, and actually, it’ll be free agency this year potentially as well that we will work well together understanding what we need for our system, and we’re going to work it as hard as we can.

The Yay
the browns won the trade value-wise. theres no correlation to the trade and them deciding to pick mostly some bums with those picks. they couldve had dak in the 4th, they couldve picked a better wr than coleman and they sure as fukk couldve picked someone better than peppers this year. hell, they couldve picked watson with that one instead of trading down again

This is why fans are idiots :yeshrug:

How bout u pull up ur post in this thread saying Wentz was gonna be the real deal:sas1:

:bryan:, this nikka acting like he knew what da fukk Carson Wentz was going to be all along. Small D2 school QB from north dakota.

In context, after the dream team debacle and the chip kelly era offseasons, i was rightfully wary of this move. Eagles gave up alot for him.

I was wrong, Now Im lookin forward, not backwards now.

Now let me enjoy the wentz show nikka:ahh:

I'll be the first to admit like many of us eagles fans wasn't completely on board with this trade. With what we gave up for a guy who was playing in D2 football.

But with time, how Carson has proven all these idiots wrong and we manage to flip Bradford for a 1st and used a 4th round pick for ajayi. It all worked out and then some

Thank you to the Browns front office
