What a stupid take... The team has grown, and if its anything that stagnant is Big ben. Tomlin hasn't had a loosing record since he's been there. As far as Pederson, he lost the locker room after that 4th quarter move but I'm sure it was also an accumulative affect.
Damn Marvin Lewis went 15 yrs without a playoff win before finally getting fired and Lurie dumped Pederson 3 years after a chip and 1 yr after overachieving to a playoff berth Being butt buddies with your owner is VERY important. It's the difference between being Marvin Lewis or Jason Garrett in Dallas or being done dirty like Pederson
Honestly it was time. The jig was up when Reich left but I think we all held out hope that Doug would get his act together. Better to do it this way than to have him completely destroy his rep. He’ll be remembered for our ring in the long run. We don’t need a full rebuild but it’s definitely time for a refresh.
His vision to fix things was promoting from within the staff that oversaw a WOAT 4 win season and WOAT QB regression. He forced their hand dieing on the hill of stubborn loyalty when the results were jarring.
That contract is terrible they won’t be able to trade him and too much dead money to cut him really wish the PA would set the max an individual player could get is 15% of the cap which would be 30m. That way the top guys like Mahomes , Rodgers etc. would get it then bums like wentz would get less
