If animals weren't meant to be eaten then why are they made out of meat?

One of my favorite shirts says "PETA: People for the Eating of Tasty Animals" on the front

The back paraphrases this post (If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did He make them out of meat?)

Only a few things freak me out. Like eggs. Even though they are unfertilized in most cases, I find it strange that we find babies delicious or essential to many meals. I've been vegetarian for a few years in the past but overall I don't think it's crazy to eat meat.

What matters is the treatment of the animal before they serve their purpose as pets, assistants, nourishment or otherwise.

I'm a pro-dowhutchalike person but it kills me when hardcore vegans and animal rights come at people with their BS rhetoric on why people should or shouldn't only eat meat or vegetables. The reality is that we are at the top(or damn near it) of the food chain and no other animal would give any f**ks about eating a human if that meant self-preservation.

I dined on the carcasses of 3 different animals today

Had some turkey sausage w/ egg whites and fruit salad this morning. Boneless chicken breasts and broccoli for lunch, and a steak and salad for dinner.
