I know you were all delibrately trying to shyt on Ebro and defend Drake, But this was only brought up because Drake said the "This is America" song is overrated. Ebro never brought up Drake not speaking on issues before but if you're not going to speak on issues then shut the fukk up about a song that does.

Why do people still expect entertainers to speak on social issues when that's not their area of expertise? shyt is baffling. :heh:

Because we come from generations where entertainers spoke up on social issues when it wasn't their expertise. It's just now the celebrities are lamer than their predecessors or in many cases, outright lames. We want a Muhammad Ali, Jim brown, Sam Cooke like artists who the people can feel to speak up, but we neither have that caliber of artists, or that caliber of person nowadays

Exactly what it boils down to. This wasn’t a case of Ebro just randomly saying Drake doesn’t speak on Black issues. No one would expect him to, but as soon as you basically attack a song that does address those issues, all bets are off.

The video was all you needed to see to explain everything. If you want a deeper meaning look up the lyrics and what they are about.

This song was bought and paid for from another artist (was a thread on here).

Also they had to do a full media run explaining the video the night it dropped - articles and videos the full 9.

Who exactly was going to figure that out? The song wouldn't be anything Without the video, which had to be explained frame by frame

Facts just because you rich don't mean you a civil rights activist.

These celebrities got rich because of their talent not because of social issues

Some entertainers and athletes speak up and get crucified for it in the media......Kyrie, Lebron, Kanye, etc

Others, like Michael Jordan and Drake, don't......probably for the better.

If im a rich entertainer or athlete I aint getting involved in no political issues that could affect my bag if taken the wrong way by a faction of people.
Just gimme my milli's and let me perform or play sports and do my thing.

Athletes were not meant to be social or political activists

Help me understand...

It's ok for Drake to comment on somebody speaking out about black issues in America. But when the observation is made that he himself doesn't comment on anything, there are countless excuses made?

Had Drake kept his mouth shut, there wouldn't be anything to talk about.

The dikk swallowing y'all nikkas do for this man is outrageous, but expected.

They also keep saying he's a jewish kid from Canada....yet they allow him to drop the N word whenever he pleases :mjlol:

It's not just 3 people. We've had many an artist from previous generations speak up about varying injustices within the black community. Now everything is get the bag, floss on people, then when that fails its "this is whats wrong with the black community" I honestly think that's why people don't want to hear from celebrities
