They're not above anyone, they are also affected by politics believe it or not. That's why some talk about it.
What does being affected about politics have to do with making music about politics?

Right, there's a bunch of things plaguing Black Americans is a socio-political sense that can be touched on by a rapper. It can also reach youth in a way other forms of media can't, they hear their favorite rapper speak about these things they might get active.

Rappers don't have to be MLK, it's just nice when they are actually in tune with the rest of us.
There’s a bunch of things plaguing black Americans and not a single one of those issues will be fixed by rappers providing social commentary

I don't like Ebro or the notion that Drake HAS to speak on anything other than what he wants.

That said, it's one of the reasons why Drake will never be one of goats to me. He's never done anything really conceptual or conscious, and he's made like 10+ projects now. Nothing

They got a platform and they could use it for a good cause. Nothing wrong with them speaking about it.

Yeah, and he also posted a letter about Alton Sterling on IG. I believe also does donate to the black community too. I think there should be more smoke for other artists because there are black artist that never speak on it or have said some suspect comments. I know Travis Scott got some heat, but there should be more smoke for guys like him than there is for Drake.

A) Because he grew up as a jewish kid in an affluent Toronto neighborhood......as someone stated he wasn't raised in the trenches
B) Most of his fans are white or non-black and probably don't care
C) Drake never been on that social conscious tip, his music is party/ weekend music. He ain't KRS-One

But, I'll say your damned if you do and damned if you don't. People got on Lebron and Kyrie for speaking up about black issues/ politics/ the vaccine and they were crucified for it. When Kyrie was all on his "my body, my choice tip everyone was like "fukk your opinion......you're wrong...."
Also Enes Kanter......dude was almost kidnapped and killed over his criticisms of Turkey.

Then you got other prominent black athletes/ entertainers like Michael Jordan who never gets involved in that shyt, and stays above the controversies by just not speaking on anything, and imo he's better off.

Whenever you speak out about something, the pitchfork crowd comes.......

If drake did it,the coli would just say he's doing it for clout and post his blackface pic anyways.

If he donates, it's a tax write-off.

Either way he's going to get hate for it.

It’s damned if you do and damned if you don’t in this situation for Drake. Even if he tried to speak up on issues you already know the first thing people gone bring up is that picture so nobody would take it seriously anyway

La Flame’s fan base is primarily crackers and beaners so there’s not going to be that much smoke based on the demographics I agree on smoke for the sus shyt and vulture shyt I’d like to add on. I’m not talking about drake doing UK/patois or w/e he does I consider that homage. Im talking about post Malone, yeat type shyt. But also these guys are supposed to be top tier journalist and a couple of coli posters have found Drake to be more conscious than they led on. I just think Ebro don’t like drake if he’s saying shyt like this which is ok but don’t try to frame it this way.

Yeah, I think the bolded is the issue because Drake is apolitcal like most rappers. It takes a quick Google search to show that he at least spoke out about some issues and donated to various black communities, which is far more than certain rappers.

Also, you're right that we need to protect more because we allowed post malone to profit off the music and then disregard it once he got hot. We've seen multiple white people do that and make a mockery of it.

At the end of the day it's clear Ebro got beef with Drake and is wrongfully using black community to fuel it. Also, I am glad certain rappers aren't speaking about it because I am unsure if I can trust some of these rappers to speak on issues.

No one allowed Post Malone to do anything. We can’t stop anyone from making and selling music
