So YEARS later.....people are still playing with the narrative Jay Z signed Nas? Smh

I guess only myself saw the mtv special....where
Nas Jay n LA Reid literally detailed how the deal came about

They keep painting a picture Nas ....hat in hand....begging Jay for a deal . Jay being such a forgiven god, tossed his ex enemy a lifeline..tf
shyt's stupid

We know Jay's company. N Nas ain't Cam

How can the person that was never part of negotiations be credited with a signing? (as confirmed by all involved) What kind of goofy thinking is that

Why folks playing stupid

Drake allegedly was gonna write a response that was so "dark" he didn't want to put it out

Probably would've been some Superugly type shyt. At least Jay had the courage to drop it

Difference between those 2 rappers. Drake's ceiling as an all-time great MC is capped. It's been capped years ago
Allegedly, but remember if he brings to life skeletons out the closet, he knows that’s his burial coming soon. You only go that route when you’re pulling a kamikaze drake keeps a lot of folks lights on so that ain’t happening. I do believe he’s Tom Brady in the New England though …

The war that will never be to look for is really Kenny and Drake. I expect drake to throw back a shot soon.

Do people really care about this shyt that much?
Yeah it's apart of history and Push was dead in the water quite impressive when you really think about it.

He got him so bad his fakkit ass stans couldn't use any bullshyt narratives to swing the victory his way.

He killed Drake but I guess I outgrew that aspect of hip hop. I don’t care to debate about top 5s and battles anymore. I’ll comment on a song etc but that’s it.

I don't fukk with Drake mostly but losing a rap battle only affects you if it ends your career.

So Ja Rule, MC Shan, Moe Dee (even though I'm in the minority that thinks he spanked LL)

Them nikkas never recovered. When nikkas see Drake out on tour or hear a new song they don't immediately think about Pusha.

Can’t disagree more

Yes the ultimate blow is your career being finished but what Ether & Addidon did was give legendary winners ghost

Jay-Z was fighting that ugly camel shyt for years. Didn’t this nikka mention something ugly millionaire I’m cute on 444?

No differently than Drake

nikkax fighting ghost well after the bars

Yeah Nas and pusha left that permanent tattoo on Jay and Drake arm

I was listening to Jay renegade on LL XM radio and just remembered Nas line “ And EM murdered u on your own track”

Man, look...

The first time I ever saw a nikka in the middle of a rap beef respond with not a verse, not a song, not a line... but an ISSUED STATEMENT and having his OG call it off... was Drake. Nobody has ever done this before after getting dissed. We can talk about how Drake continued to make hits and yes, it's true... but the fact remains that he continued to make hits on some "success is the best revenge" shyt, because he knew he was out of his league trying to compete with Pusha on some rap shyt. And people seem to tiptoe over the fact that it was Drake who set this whole thing off by tossing subs at Pusha a good 7 years before it got to that point. He kicked it off and then backed waaaay the fukk up after Adidon dropped. That's an L.

Nobody has ever cared about this and I'm confused why people keep bringing it up.

There was never a burden on a diss record to end somebody's career....that's some internet shyt.

"Hit Em Up" did literally nothing to BIG's career and people still lost their minds when it dropped. And it's obviously a legendary record, in rap history.

People keep mixing the two. It would be like getting washed at the Super Bowl and fans of the losing team mention how rich and successful the players are.

It's two completely separate, unrelated things.

Fred.

Yeah, LA signed him. He asked Nas would he be willing to work alongside Jay with Def Jam. Nas said fine..

People act like Nas only option after Sony was Def Jam. He turned down Atlantic (Craig Kallman CEO) and others including Sylvia Rhone.
