wrestlers had creative range on their characters and made them more modern like when the original doink got fired and the guy would come out with half his face painted with borne again written on it.

Raven was a character of the time when rock was going through this punk like grunge stage. Wrestlers were free to innovate their own matches with no restrictions look at dean vs eddie for that or rvd vs jerry lynn

WWF was like that before they started using writers and shyt. I will give Heyman credit that he did allow his wrestlers more freedom though but again that can happen because you don't have as many "eyes" watching you. More freedom made better storylines because you could "go there".

Heyman is one of the greatest minds in wrestling and the thing that he has always did is stick to what works, staying in kayfabe and letting wrestlers very themselves. He is anti what WWE is now but...but he didn't really truly change much about wrestling. Dude likes to act like he reinvented the wheel but this isn't truly.

watched this last night... sh1t was ehhhh to me

the styles/ heymann dynamic didn't really work... felt bland and awkward most of the time...

and neither of them brought their A game... heyman really seems out of touch and clinging to this idea that ECW was a lot more significant than it really was... and styles is just :flabbynsick:

dont get me wrong, ECW was a game changer in pro wrestling and a great niche promotion... but heyman treats it like it was a pop culture phenomenon and has mentally blocked out that alot of time their product was subpar. perfect example of putting nostalgia on a pedestal

i hope they do more ECW docs on the network but would rather it be former roster talent and not delusional paul heyman and a cranky joey styles

sabu shoot interviews are way more insightful and entertaining
that sandman or raven doc (fukk even mini doc) would just be amazing....

It was fine as a one hour highlight reel show to cross promote all the ECW stuff coming to the network

But I think y'all a little too far thinking there was legit kayfabe breaking moments. In these kind of retrospect specials they do allow the personalties to be candid and I think as spin heavy as WWE brass is, with something like ECW they know they have to let the people be candid and honest to a certain extent.

Y'all made me waste an hour watchin' this to see what y'all were talkin' about...

"Ohhh Joey shootin'! He might get fired for this!!" :lupe:

:mjlol: He went further than that the time he was on Raw and "quit".

That was typical Heyman/Styles stuff.

Not that I expected it to uncover anything that hasn't been already said in the ECW dvds or Heyman's documentary. It's good for people who didnt catch those DVDs, but that's about it. Some of y'all were in here like :wow:for nothing...
