Dude was forcing double digit turnovers most seasons. Best defensive back I’ve ever seen.
I heard Rex Ryan say this week that Ed once played a certain coverage wrong for like 7 weeks straight knowing Peyton would be studying him. When the game came Ed played the coverage right and got 2 ints

Only one raven that we can even argue was better :wow:. The amount of time this guy would spend studying film was unbelievable. He got it right so often that his coaches essentially gave him the green light to ignore play calls and improvise based on his instincts and study habits. That’s insane for any team sport, but for defense on the football field, it’s like playing Russian roulette. Even with all that, he just never seemed to make any big mistakes. I don’t think we’re ever going to see a db again with his combination of talent, instincts, and study habits. The man was a unicorn essentially.

Him and Ray’s film study sessions were legendary. It got to the point Ed basically lived at Ray’s house. Chuck Pagano said Ed would stay up so late watching film that he couldn’t stay awake in meetings. Every now and then they’d wake him up in the meeting and Ed already knew the play they were about to show the team so they’d let him go back to sleep

Bruh Ed Reed was so cold man :wow:

Fun fact: He was on the Hurricanes track team in college and threw the Javelin :wow:

He held the record at Miami and was Big East champion too :wow:
Ed was the definition of an all-around athlete. He was a track star, played baseball and was a 20 ppg basketball player in high school too. He’d have a track meet and baseball game going on at the same time, so he’d do his track event then run over to the baseball diamond. Butch Davis loved recruiting players who were multi-sport stars because they were natural athletes who you could put at multiple positions.
