Phenomenal. The beginning was a bit slow but I think that was a masterful way of introducing us to and getting us attached to the characters.

I would say it’s a hair too long, but other than that it was a phenomenal think piece of WTF exactly happened in 2020? Crazy times, I forgot what it was like. But this brought it all back, I was living it all over again.

I love Ari yo. :ahh:

@Lootpack you a hating fakkit. Can’t understand and grasp the intricacies of this film.
Not a hating fakkit, just got a different opinion than you. :unimpressed:

But it is trippy revisiting 2020...seems like decades ago...and not 5 years ago.
Filmed this a lil over a year ago, shyt definitely felt like it was a made-up timeline and not some shyt we actually went through

Joaquin cool as hell irl.

That town is trashy as hell irl too :mjlol: hated being there, entire town was within a couple blocks

Does Pedro have a few twin brothers?
It feels like he's in everything
Some shoots take 5 days while others 30 days. Actors have it made. Now reshoots, voice overs, etc can throw a wrench into production. You see what happened to Batman vs Superman with Henry.
:mjlol:
You can easily be a lead for 4 movies within a year if not more. Not wise but

When it comes to actually being on set this is facts, if we can get away with using a stunt double or stand-in for a shot 9 times outta 10 the actor would prefer we do that so they don't gotta show up.

But you gotta think about the other training they have to do to match the character, might need to learn a language/accent and be fluent in a short amount of time, have a certain kind of build so ya body might get fukked up doing drastic diet changes, any combat training or fun courses, etc. etc. That shyt will fill up all of their free time, and we might be filming in a trash ass town so days off might be harder to get through than a work day around coworkers you fukk with

Countless promo runs across the country/glove after the project is done too so you still gotta be in people pleaser mode

Being side character in a lot of shyt is the real sweet spot :banderas: hardly have any responsibilities for real cuz you just a cameo

There are some things to admire, and I laughed a few times, but this is another issue of mine with many movies in the 2020's. Even Aster's first 2 didn't have that feeling. He doubled down on all that was wrong with Beau Is Afraid.

So much messaging and meme like style. What happened to thrillers, or whatever this was meant to be, that showcased parts of society, without all the obvious and heavy handed social commentary, at the expense of any thrills, laughs, evoking any feeling....

I was watching The Insider the other night, and it has messages/social commentary, but it's never so obvious and clumsy, or scattered in it's approach. Primal Fear, I threw that one after, and it looks pretty closely at corruption/religion, heavy themes, but it never forgets that it is a movie.

This movie is like a Facebook post from a 50 year old man who mainlines political news. Or a meme. Something like that. It felt like 158 minutes of memes.

Didn't know Antifa got down like that :dead:

WILD finish. I think I enjoyed this but just got back and am still unpacking the insanity. It was a lot of what I expected it to be having seen the trailers and knowing how batshyt Aster gets with his films but seeing how it all played out was damn entertaining.

I couldn't help but feel like Joe's fate was a cross between Travis Bickle and Richard Dreyfuss' character in What About Bob? :mjlol:

Breh was stacking up L after L and was cucked so many times as a man by the end :pachaha:
