Elden Ring for as good as it may have been it’s still in a niche genre of Souls-like imo

ER has transcended 'niche'

30+ million sold alone, nearly as much as the whole Souls series combined

movie in the works, Kai Cenat's playthrough put a whole new demographic on too

it's pop culture status at this point

Exploration and discovery are unrivaled

And build variety
Explore for reused bosses and glorified collectibles. Silksong's exploration gaps

Idk what you mean by build variety. The hit and run gameplan doesn't change.

Elden Ring by a mile

I loved BG3 but that third act was mid

If I only had one game to play for the next ten years, it would probably be Elden Ring. It’s that difficult and expansive to hold my attention.

Easily a top 10 all time game.

I read the tweet, which says game of the decade.
Either way tears of the kingdom or breath of the wild should be listed.

okay but even if we're going by decade, BOTW was still 3 years prior lol

and honestly as far as TOTK, it got packed up by BG3 in it's own year. Consensus GOTY sweep across the board.

I'm sorry but these things matter in a game of the generation discussion :hubie: (Cyberpunk is an exception because it was basically DQ'd at the time over the bad launch)

This is where bg3 wins for me. The only thing stopping me from
Playing it now is that I just don’t have the time and want to play other games

I pretty much already 100% ER

yeah, swap BG for ER and it's the same sentiment.

BG is basically 100%'d, I barely scratched the surface of ER.

I still pop in to Night City every now and then. BG3 not so much and I didn't bother with Elden Ring.

ER is like 70% of reused assets. At least CP2077, E33 and BG3 are unique experience

Elden Ring, Cyberpunk, and BG3 are my personal top 3 games of the gen by a mile I can’t knock anybody picking any of these :manny: . They are all 1A, 1B, 1C to me it just depends on what you're looking for in a game. Some people won't like the turn based combat of BG3, First person perspective of CP2077, or cryptic storytelling in Elden Ring which is fair, but nonetheless they are the true S-Tier games of the gen IMO
