Can’t speak on BG but Elden Ring then E33.

E33 is an amazing game and deserves most of the praise it’s getting and will win GOTY.

ER was a MOMENT in gaming though. Souls games had been around for a while until then but that one brought in everyone. Sold over 30 million copies.

Haven't played E33... but from a pop culture, mainstream perspective, doesn't feel it belongs in the conversation.

I imagine the poll results are ER vs BG3, on some Kobe vs LeBron 2009 ish, with Cyberpunk a distant 3rd.

And that in the next 2-3 years, one or two of Witcher 4, GTA 6, or Intergalatica will challenge the top 2 debate.

Out of like 80+ bosses there only 9-10 unique bosses in whole game.

There's 15 Remembrance Bosses alone in the base game and another 10 in the DLC

There are repeat overworld bosses with variations like the Erdtree avatars or giant gargoyles but even still there's more overall enemy variety in Elden Ring than 90% of games. Nioh 2 reused a ton of enemies as well.

Someone please show me all the games out there that make these lists of enemies so small and repetitive, I wanna play them :skip:

In E33's defense, it's a new IP/first game from a new studio and it's only been out 7 months. I'm sure it'll get a mainstream boost after TGAs.

Sky's the limit for the back half of the decade :wow:

End of the console gen is always good for that one 'swan song' game too, could end up something other than Intergalactic :wow:

This might be a unpopular opinion but I feel like BG3 feels better with a controller. Menus are harder to navigate but actually controlling your characters feels more immersive than clicking around the screen.
I hate keyboard and mouse but this is the only game I prefer it over controller . I think the menus are fine but hot keys are so much easier.

There is no reason to use a controller for this game.

I will say Larian kind of mastered the gamepad controls for a CRPG. I’ve played them both on keyboard and gamepad and once you get used to it, it’s just as good.

I also think its part of why BG3 sold so well on console

I have my PC hooked up to my 75" TV so I use a controller as I sit on the couch.

I have heard "DOS" 1&2 and "BG3" are better with keyboard/mouse but I didn't see a reason to use it.

It def makes inventory management a bit simpler as you can just drag and drop stuff but they even improved that with the last few updates

One of the best things they did in "DOS" was make one button create a radius around you showing all objects you can pick up.

Really simple QoL improvement but made controllers so much easier to use.

Think that why more CRPGs are coming out on consoles. No excuses to not have decent controller support

Elden Ring and its not close, that whole time was a moment. I had nikkas IRL who don't even fw souls game calling me crying about Malenia :dead:

BG3 imo is one of the most overrated and boring games...ever. A pretty good narrative but actually playing the game is abysmal and trash. Its great it gives you so much freedom to deal with its garbage ass combat that is garbage and slow anyway.

E33 is amazing but ER is just different.
BG3 is the game that let me know that the industry is pay for play cause that game was available in early access on pc for YEARS with no buzz then all of a sudden it was amazing and everywhere :mjlol:

Meanwhile ask anybody what the story is for BG1 and 2 and they can't tell you cause nobody played them:mjlol:

The game had no buzz in early access because it was literally just a beta version of Act 1.

It's still Act 1. It's not like they drastically changed it from what was in the beta than what was in the final version of the game.

Most astroturfed/gaslighted game Ive ever seen.

Its like a flip switched when all the cornballs saw you could fukk a bear that this game is going to a critical darling :unimpressed:

Then you play it and its the most tedious, corny, boring, meandering game wver. All the characters are mid. Oh look a flamboyant vampire, how original. Shadowheart queen tsundere.

And thats supposed to be the highlight of thr game. Lets not even talk about the gameplay. Horrid

Im in the minority idc, game is garbage. nikkas ignore every bug in this game too
