Eli isn't a Hall of Famer. I don't care if he won 2 SBs. He is well behind other QBs in his generation - Brady, Peyton, Rodgers, and Brees. His playoff runs weren't even elite quality like when Flacco went on an insane playoff run.

He won in 07 because Asante drops a game winning INT and Tyree has this miracle catch with Rodney draped all over him

And in 2010, they again won because Welker drops a pass that would have sealed a Pats win meanwhile another ridiculous pass and catch happened that had no business being completed -

The Pats choked more than anything in these 2SBs.

:banderas:

Can't spell Elite without Eli

2 rings. Against Brady. Twice. Get him in Canton. :birdman:

Not sure how to word it, but I'd say Eli Manning is not a HOF talent, but he will make the HOF due to those two Super Bowl rings and him being in New York. I think his case has actually gotten stronger over the past ten years with Brady winning four more Super Bowls within that time, and most people saying Brady is the undisputed GOAT.

Would I take Big Ben, Rivers, Romo, Ryan, and others over him as a QB? Yes, absolutely.

However, I think there is near a zero percent chance he does not make it into the HOF due to how and who he beat on those Super Bowl runs. People put so much value on "wins" nowadays, especially for QB's that it makes it even more likely he gets in.

Eli is one of the most clutch qbs ever. When the game was on the line he stepped up. I think I would take a qb like that over a qb who’s amazing but when it come down to it they wilt.

Eli is a rare case for hall does he get in on a full body of work? No. He may of been top 5 qb once in his career. I always say you have to be the best at the position or only worse than someone who’s also a hall of famer.

But he is one of the all time best clutch qb’s and that’s enough for me for him to get in deservedly.

Giants had the 30th ranked defense in 2011 and the first time they beat the Pats they were double digit underdogs

What “ideal” situations was he in?

Their best team was the year they didn’t win it in 08. If Plaxico doesn’t shoot himself they might have won it all that year

His regular season ain't HOF worthy. His playoffs, outside of two postseasons were mediocre at best. So we're gonna put him in the HOF because he plays in New York and the two impossible catches made by his receivers? Don't make sense to me :yeshrug:

Those 2 postseasons were for the ages, but I’m not sure he won any playoff games outside of those years. Had a losing record in 6 of his final 7 seasons with 4 separate seasons of 10+ losses (to be fair the giants defense led the league in blown 4th quarter leads a few times). A 366 to 244 touchdown/interception ratio isn’t great. Completing just over 60% of his passes isn’t great. 7 yards per attempt isn’t great. Passer rating of 84 isn’t great either. Giants legend and New York sports legend for sure, but I don’t think I’d vote him for the hall of fame.

I don't disagree with what either of you are saying.

Right or wrong, I just think that he will get in because of the two Super Bowl Championships, who they came against, and him being in a major market. I don't think as a talent he is a HOF worthy player or even the Hall of Very Good, but I do think he gets in for the reasons I mentioned.

That look-off then dime to Manningham is not helping your argument lol. That's probably the best ball I've ever seen a QB throw in the Super Bowl

People hating on Eli are being disingenuous. He was an average QB who had a peculiar quality of elevating his play drastically in the playoffs.

I know Brady was furious losing to this bozo. TWICE.

It's like Archie gave regular-season talent to one son and playoff talent to the other.
