AOC, and I'm not dikkriding, I'm being sincere, had the best idea for reparations (outside of her trying to include other groups) that I've heard. A lot of modern white wealth from surburbanization, home ownership, GI Bill, farming, generational wealth, was built on by the New Deal that blacks were purposely excluded from. It is what helped bring a lot of whites out of living in shacks in the middle of the fukking desert they created from overfarming.

For my personally, righting the wrongs of that would be adequate reparations. Make it easier for blacks to get those things for a couple of generations compared to other groups.

My opinion. Feel free to disagree. All that shyt I listed is more beneficial to building wealth than just cutting a check IMO and its the biggest contributor to the racial gap in wealth created by this country

or how about this, a check on top of the stuff I listed? By the way, as far as the 40 acres and a mule, 40 acres is only 2000 on average these days. Need to add some interest on that by a few 100 acres.

They basically already get reperations in a sense although nothing can make up for what they went through. Black people deserve them but I fear it will never happen. Since we talk about it so much on thecoli I put some thought into this. I think we should switch the reason why we deserve it from slavery to the jim crow era or maybe post reconstruction. Only problem is that would guarantee less people get it for obvious reasons.

They don't only get tax breaks, they also have their own independent nation inside the US. This is why the laws on reservations aren't the same as in other parts of the US because they operate as an independent nation inside of the US even though like I said, if you do some reading on the conditions of most reservations its fukking horrible (rampant sex abuse from inside and from outside, drugs, crime, poverty, etc).

They got substantial reparations though.
