Why should a small group of people get to control actual resources needed to sustain life while billions fight over paper that only has value cause we agree to it and every one of these magical pieces of paper causes more debt?

I wont disagree with anything you said because i find it all very poignant to the topic at hand but simply put, in my opinion...

People disregard the whole of human history when talking about true progress towards a utopian society...lets forget that a utopia society needs at least one thing for everyone to disagree with in order to function...

Look at the history of human economic systems

Egyptian slavery
Slave trade
aristocracy and serfdom
Capitalism

I fail to see the differences between any of those four main economic systems...

Why will it change...look at how badly capitalist societies try to smash socialist/communist revolutions throughout the world? Honduras cuba vietnam etc etc

Humans just cant leave each other alone and where one void of power opens it is closed by another filling its spot

I highly suggest that you read the grand inquisitor portion of the brothers karamazov...it basicslly sums up how fukking pointless personal freedom is and humans need for fascism exists

I agree. I'm not saying it's possible, just that it shouldn't be demonized. Human nature/greed mixed with propaganda damn near ensures that we'll never even approach a utopic society (also differing opinions/ideologies mean one person's utopia is another's hell), but a UBI may just arise out of desperation and a last resort to avoid total societal breakdown.

And I sadly agree that humans need a structure system/form of control, at least at the moment. It's evident in everyday life that most humans can't and don't want to think for themselves, and a UBI would absolutely be a move towards a more controlled society. I just think that, besides eventually being a necessity, it would give everyone time to pursue worthwhile endeavors and offer more leisure time. Which we've been brainwashed to think is a bad thing, yet the super wealthy do everything they can to acquire more of it while convincing us that hard work is a virtue--which to a certain extent it is, but when it negatively affects aspects of individuals' lives and society as a whole, it needs to be addressed.

We can't even get universal healthcare in this country. He's acknowledging there will be a major problem of what to do with all these people who will be displaced economically, but the truth is there is already a plan. They don't plan on any of us being here to enjoy this technological utopia, once enough of the mundane tasks for society have been automated expect a massive world war to cull the world population down to a manageable 500 million tops.

there are conservative arguments ubi that would appeal to the type of white person who talks about welfare queens (but not corporate welfare)..
