My bad for the late reply. Been sleep most of the day. Yea, Elway is a guy who totally gets credited due to his pedigree and prodigious physical ability. It is way to easy to pick apart his resume. Only six seasons of 20 td passes in 16 seasons. Throwing Dan Reeves under the bus to absolve Elway of poor play is downright dishonest and slanderous
I guess it's the whole peak vs performance thing

Someone who supports elway will point to what he is capable of when it matters compared to his regular everyday performance .

anybody check out his Netflix doc
The doc was really boring to me. It basically fast forwarded through most of his playing career. They covered his three super bowl losses in like 5 minutes total. No real interesting stories. Hell even his beef with Dan Reeves they showed Elway making a quote in 1990 about the team not being as good as can be and then a couple minutes later we're in 1995 talking about Shanahan coming in.

Thanks for this.
I saw this documentary pop up and I suspected it was not worth the time. Glad you confirmed it.

I agree. Also, respect for using the term "slander" in the proper way (lying) :russ:

Thanks. I was considering watching it as I try to watch most sports documentaries, but I’ll pass on this one.

Thanks, brother. I appreciate it. Ppl act like Dan Reeves is the devil to defend Elway, while Phil Simms and Chris Chandler had the best seaaons of tbeir career under him. While Vick didnt have a better passing sesson than he had in 2002 under Reeves, until 2010, under the legendary QB whisperer, Andy Reid. They always say he held Elway back, maybe he was trying to keep his ints.down!! Only Elway can go 18/18, 13/12, and 10/17 and be praised as an all time elite. It is sickening!!

Facts. Big points about Simms and Chandler. And I agree, had Vick not gotten hurt in 2003 and Reeves fired, I think Vick would have done better than he did with Mora. That 2002 season was good.
