Some nikkaz are exposing themselves in here. Marino is still the greatest IMO. Only QB that is up there is Montana. I find folk sleep on Marino. I used to shyt on this dude but once I started to understand the game and would watch his old unathletic ass slide in the pocket and deliver bombs all over the field it was like discovering plutonium. :damn: Plus his swag was :gladbron:

It's been 20 + years and I still shake my head looking back at some of Marino's throws...

:wow:

I know what u r saying but....

Elway was the better qb when it mattered most. U want a clutch qb or a qb who almost got it done. Elway was amazing to watch. Regardless of how his numbers portray him. That's what makes him great is that his numbers might seem pedestrian but he always seemed to come through when it mattered.

This is exactly why he's considered one of the greatest. Straight up clutch. You could never count out an Elway led team if it was close in the 4th. Period.

Marino Stans still salty he got his ass handed to him in the playoffs by Elway 38-3. I was at that game BTW.

Not as bad as when Mark Brunell, Jay Fiedler and the Jaguars took his soul in the playoffs 62-7. :scusthov:

I can't believe I just read Bernie Kosar has been put into the same tier as John Elway.

The world is on its ass.
He was in the 80s. Stop acting as if I'm pulling that out my ass. He wasn't in Mariano's and Montana category. He and kosar numbers were practically identical. Byner doesn't fumble and he narrative changes

I don't know about overrated, I just think he was a late bloomer. He always had a cannon arm but he couldn't control it until he lost some of his arm strength and had to be disciplined. Strangely enough kind of like Jay Cutler. But lets be reality the Denver Broncos had shyt recievers most of the time he was there, Anthony Miller was the only receiver on that team worth a damn and yet they were a top 10 offense.

That's disrespectful.....Don't put that underachieving semi-alcoholic next to John...
do yourself a favor and read what I quoted. It adds context.

a WR who joined in 1994? :what: :camby:

The name "The 3 Amigos" was just made up out of thin air?

Judging players strictly by stats in football is as dumb as it gets considering all the variables in the sport, this isnt baseball where stats tell the whole story

Elway was like Cutler with 2 rings. Folk were on this dude's dikk just off his big arm. Then all these 4th quarter comebacks and blah blah blah. Dude been riding the hype machine from time. Was a disappointment until he got those 2 rings and all those disappointing seasons were forgotten. Now folk got him above Marino, Young, etc? :what:

I'm exagerating a bit about the Cutler thing but just showing how people fall in love with big arms.

Lol I just realize I said something similar.
