Embiid is the MVP, followed by Giannis. Jokic can't be a 6th seed winning MVP

Why does Nash have more MVP's than Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe and Durant ? Lmao :mjlol::mjlol::scust: Talk about implicit bias. Nash and Jokic are about to stick out like a sore thumb among NBA players with 2 or more MVP's.

Sure Jokic is clearly better than Nash was but its very telling that 2 of the weakest players with 2 or more MVP's in NBA history are white guys.

Doncic is probably going to have the same amount of MVP's as Lebron when he hangs it up. They might even give him the same as MJ :russ:

You're dumb as fukk.

How come Luka isn't in the conversation? Most I heard was maybe 4th or 5th place. He's averaging 28,9 and 9 and has as many wins as Philly and Milwaukee. He could get the 3 seed in the west. He has big wins over top teams recently. His second best teammate is Dinwiddie or Brunson

He's the actual true MVP but we'll take playoff success over that

To be honest

I really don't care

I never remember who won MVP in any year

Joel should win.. They saying Joker gonna win

That shyt does nothing for me either way

Let's start the playoffs already.. that's all that matters

His raw stats are not better than Embiid's or Giannis'. He's very good but there's literally no reason why he should be the overwhelming favorite for MVP. Again, he's the 6th seed in the weaker conference .

Only 1 player in the last 40 years has won MVP being stuck out in 6th seed and most people look back on giving that guy the award with regret.
Well they are better, but I wont argue those semantics.

Im not even sure how you've determined he ran away with the MVP when we havent even seen the voting results yet. This thread couldnt even wait until the results are actually provided?

Ive very cleanly explained why he may win too, its pretty straightforward. Your entire argument is he shouldn't win because his much less talented team is two wins behind the 76ers & Bucks? OK, how does that make sense? If it was a 10 game gap I could maybe understand

as mentioned, his raw stats are unprecedented too - you just want to fixate where you want too but his argument is full proof. he passes every test you can challenge (eye, raw #s, advanced #s)

Ignore him. He's a low quality poster, with zero intelligence, trying to bait.

OP is just like a lot of people who remember those years Kobe and LeBron were putting up great numbers with trash teams and lost MVP to Nash and Dirk. That’s what it’s really about. A precedent was set and people resent it being reversed for Jokic. Notice how there’s more blowback this year than last year. You guys are all focusing on his stats and the circumstances of this season when the argument for MVP has always been based on narratives and the predominant one is wins. This is what Ja was getting at and what Draymond is getting at.

I think a lot of you think that you’re smarter than the anti-analytics crowd and are ignoring that for over a decade people have argued for looking at who has done the most and who is the best player and that got shot down again and again. OP didn’t create that precedent. Jokic is deserving but I’m about consistency and if we are overturning precedent I need an explanation of why and it’s got to be better than that’s just how we feel. Because if he’s the one seed next year and his numbers take a step back because Murray and MPJ are there — he would still be the odds on favorite unless someone was within 5 wins of him.

I'm not advocating for anything just stating the way its always been done. I don't even agree with that
:ehh:
They are the 6th seed. Only 1 player in the last 40 years has won MVP being the 6th seed. And in hindsight, it was the wrong decision.

The MVP becomes a joke when the criteria keeps on changing. Exactly what Booker was referring to
No one argued Jokic doesnt have a case but his team is the 6th seed.

They said Joel needed to play more games

They said he needed better numbers

They said he needed to win more

He’s done all of the three over the past two years and it still ain’t enough:yeshrug:It is what it is
Joel should have won it last season I hope he gets it this time
