They won't vanish, there's no other sport that 7 feet tall people can realistically go into, the problem right now is that the most gifted ones are getting hurt.

Right now, the next best legit young 7 footer behind Joel is Rudy Gobert, and he doesn't have the offensive potential of Joel. He could develop, but he used to be a wing player so he has a lot of catching up to do.
