Embiid vs Jokic?

Embiid, but it's close.
Embiid's the better scorer, Jokic is the better passer. Overall on offense I give Jokic the edge, but not by a lot.
Defense I think Joel is significantly better. Jokic isn't the terrible defender people who don't watch make him out to be by any means, he's fine on defense, but a healthy Embiid is a DPOY talent.

So close offense, but gap on defense goes Joel for me

Both of these guys are all-time Centers and absurdly talented

Like someone said, when both are at their best, I’m taking Embiid. He’s an offensive and defensive force. Though Embiid has been on a tear this past month or so, he’ll have a game shooting 4-17, and as a center, that’s inexcusable. Joker is way more durable and consistent. Also, Joker is arguably the best passer in the league. He’s not a defensive force like Embiid, but he’s no slouch either.

In their head to head matchups, Embiid is 4-1, but he’s averaged 2 less points (19 to 21) and shot less than 40% from the field with almost 5 turnovers. Embiid averaged like 11 boards to Joker’s 7, but Joker shot 48% from the field and also averaged 7 assists.

With all that said, I’d probably still take Embiid.

This. They're a push offensively but Embiid is all-NBA on the defensive end, while Joker is average... No comparison.

We gotta stop with the “Jokic is better on offense but embiid is better on defense, and the gap in defense is bigger so embiid is better” take. It just doesn’t work that way. No one would say “Steph is a much better offensive player than davion Mitchell, but Mitchell is a much better defender, so they’re basically equals”.

Also, it’s not close or even on offense. Embiid is a great big man scorer, Jokic is the entire offense.

I honestly think Jokic is underrated on defence. He’s not a traditional shot blocker and doesn’t get highlight plays but when it comes to protecting the rim he tends to be in the right place at the right time. He can’t jump and block shots like an athletic big but he keeps both arms up which is usually enough.

I think Embidd is better but I would choose Jokic based on his durability and overall health. But I enjoy watching Embidd more. Special player

Both excellent offensive talents. Jokic balance and positional awareness is exceptional. Embiid looks like he’s playing on ice at times. Durability jokic. Defense Embiid.

Both are great… but as a Nets fan I dont wanna see Embiid in the playoffs he might average 40 on Claxton
