Why would any record label care about what type of music you want Eminem to make ? You've destroyed your music industry buying power by buying bootleg cds and downloading music for free.Eminem has proven that record sales and radio spins mean nothing to him.by making "the relapse album".Unfortunately, this is a business. So when Interscope sees Recovery outselling Relapes 3 to 1 million(11m to 4m) it's a wrap for the Hip Hop heads.Eminem has not fallen off as much as you would like to believe, just look at "Don't Front""Ground Hog Day" & "Calm Down".He's still an elite rapper.Eminem can rap about other topics, but will his label support it ? better yet, will hip hop support it ?

The one mistake Eminem made with the Relapes album,is the accent.I understand the serial killer concept, but when you make a comeback album, the familiarity of the artist voice gives the buying consumer that nostalgic. That feeling was missing with Relapes.

It doesn't matter what he CAN do, it's about what he's doing. I understand to obligation to sell, I understand that balancing act but if the shyt is wack it's wack. He has purposely crafted songs that he didn't really like since mmlp.

As for relapse, again influences from cats like redman and kool Keith come through in that album which is something a good portion of his fanbase have no idea about. That's real rap shyt. The accents and inflections not only allowed him make words rhyme differently but gave the songs some character when/where needed.

I'd rather an artist go out on a limb and experiment than be extra considerate of what they think people want...the end result is recovery and this inspirational anthem routine.

I wish he hadn't fallen off as badly as he has. 2000 Eminem would have never done this shyt. Lyrically, only Nas was better than prime Eminem (Infinite, SSLP, MMLP, TES), based on his true potential, this is straight garbage.

I genuinely can't understand how someone who grew up
on Eminem or at least has listened to the man
for over a decade can prefer his recent stuff over Relapse.
The production ? The Lyricism ? The overarching concept ?
It's miles ahead of the last two albums.
And that isn't an insult to all the skilled producers who contributed
to the last two projects.
Also I DO NOT understand the complaints about the accent, some
of the schemes he pulled off on that album using that very accent
were so cold. :wow:

I really wish he'd return to the old style over trying to be a punchline
rapper (I mean look at this performance on Bad Meets Evil :sadcam: )
