“Eminem murdered you on your own shyt” is basically Nas’s response to Jay saying that Nas’s “bodyguards” had better verses on Oochie Wally.




A lot of the shyt they said in those disses went on to shape and kind of rewrite Hip Hop history. People harped on “1 hot album every 10 year average” for Nas even though that was far from the truth and people harped on “Eminem murdered you on your own shyt” AND “How much is Biggie’s rhymes is gonna come out your fat lips?”

Nikkas trying to rewrite history. The census at the time was Eminem merking Jay on Renegade. That was the talk at the time and Nas brought it on wax.

The concept of murdering a fellow rapper on a feature was not a thing or concept, not with journalist or listners.
It was not a thing unitil after Nas made it a thing with Ether.
I would say though Em's verse was a stand out verse got rave reviews by listeners journalist etc.

I compare this to cream by wu tang. Inspectah deck verse is legendary but rae's verse still classic too. So there's no outshining here. Nas even had hip hop quotable on the source for his verse
