Nah Legacy and Headlights killed this

No way is this better than Bad Guy, Groundhog Day, or Beautiful Pain imo

I didn't like Legacy. He laced the verses but the hook sucks.

Evil Twin, Groundhog day, brainless, all dope joints from what I feel is actually his worst album.

This song to me, works..but like I keep saying, it's dumb to dangle something like this out there on it's own if it's helping to further some kinda theme or narrative. Walk On Water as an album intro works but nobody was thinking about that even though it was obvious to me. The lack of context is killing whatever positives this roll out could have had.

I know Complex is hit or miss, but I always remember this from their Shady XV review:

On the saccharine Sia-featuring single "Guts Over Fear", Eminem baldly admits to resorting to the sophomore and puerile tactics here—threatening to punch Lana Del Rey in a BET freestyle, or threatening to rape Iggy Azalea on "Vegas"—because he has no other ideas, and nothing further to say, and is painfully aware of it: "There's no more emotion for me to pull from/ Just a bunch of playful songs that I make for fun/ So, to the break of dawn, here I go, recycling the same old song," he says. The frankness of the message is remarkable: We're stuck with him, an aging white man with nothing left to say gripping the biggest bullhorn in hip-hop.

Nothing more to say, really. Listen, or don't...but don't expect that magical classic album the Eminem could put out if only he did exactly what you want him to do.

this is much better than Walk On Water that's for sure, but this is mediocre to the amount of time we waited for new music from Em. at least we ain't getting the corny content he's known to make. so this album very well might be different from the other albums.

Yoooo, that "black boy, black boy" part, was he trying to salute Masta Ace? I know he was a big fan of Masta Ace but I was wondering if he was trying to salute him from his "Born To Roll/Jeep Ass Nigguh". That third verse.

Anyways, I'm fukkin' with this. Whatever.....

Honestly, I think this is the best I've heard hims sound in 5 years. I don't understand the hate.

It’s popular to hate bruh. You notice none of those post getting no real daps. It’s mostly a bunch of 15 year olds on drugs that post that dumb shyt. No real person who been around hiphop would post any of this shyt. Like some Wacko Poster said Em never been around Black people :stopitslime:. See that type of post don’t even deserve a response cuz you know the poster is like..12..no adult even trolls that bad. You got poster asking to get put on to Artist that been out 15-20 years and it’s like WTF what rock u been under then it’s like ohh you’re prolly a 14 year old white boy it’s the nature of this board sadly

Since the Eminem show almost everything has been basura outside of Recovery..I thought that was flames. Like none of the other albums are even decent just straight ass juice.

I didn't say he's a culture vulture or questioned his so-called love for black people in general. I said he PANDERS and try overly hard to be OUR VOICE as if we are incapable to speak and defend for ourselves. I do not get down with that. I do not know of one white rapper that panders more than Eminem. And I know plenty of white MCs that nobody ever questioned their affiliated love with black people and culture without any hint of pandering. Even white rappers that are politically and socially conscious and addresses issues that affect black people aren't as pandering or do it with appropriate tact as to not speaking for us.

To me it's kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

On one hand, people act like Em just rhymes random words and never talks about anything. And with all the shyt going on, if he dropped an album without talking about the social climate, he's going to get criticized for not addressing the elephant in the room.

Then if/when he does address it...people gonna go into the particulars about what's appropriate, what's pandering ect. White people who speak up about racism are always going to run the risk of doing too much or sounding like they are trying to speak for black folk even if that's not the intent.
