Just a bunch of fukkery going around. I worked a bunch data entry jobs that wasn't particular "IT". So when they saw my resume and asked, ":skip: What is with the short term projects." it's because the company in a sense has unrealistic job specs. "You need 3-5 years of this shyt, this shyt, and this shyt." no real proper entry level jobs out there for honest young folk.

At the same times there are people who are retarded as fukk, but somehow got through the college system. They don't really understand the severity in their lives right now, so they get a proper foothold in life.

If I was to have a few minutes with someone who wants to live the good life.
  • Just have one credit card, and one debit card max.
  • Work any job during college, better if it's related.
  • Always be on good terms with the manager, because companies will ask for refs and ask for managers and not co-workers.
  • Unless your friend is working at the job, don't expect them to help you much
  • Always keep applying, even if you put your resume in somewhere else. HR firms are fukking slow and retarded. I was asked to review some resumes for a Disease Management position for IT and on the resume it said, "Help setup mosquito nets to prevent west nile." :why:
  • Be open on salary

What is funny is that...when it is time for raises...the older guys that I manage...they are quick to tell me how many hours they worked...and pretty much that is as far as they go...
"I deserve a raise because I spent on average 50 hours a week working"
And if I ask..."what did you do in those 50 hours?"...
They say..."why does it matter? I was here for 50 hours? I deserve more money because I was here for 50 hours, and this guy is only here for 45, and this guy is only here for 40...blah blah blah, I could have been with my family blah blah blah"

But a younger person...is quick to tell me what they accomplished...
"I deserve a raise because I cranked out 2.5 projects a week while everyone else was barely doing 1."
And if I ask..."how long did it take you to do it?"
They say "what does it matter? By the end of every Friday, I have completed on average, 2.5 projects. That is why I deserve more money. How long it takes me doesn't matter if the deadline is Friday and I get it done, and then some, by Friday"

Back in the day of the "Boomers", if you graduated college, you were practically guaranteed a great job for decades, if not life, and even a high school education could secure you a decent job. Now, you have to go to college to have any hope at all

Also I would like to add they could major in any fukking thing and get a great job that had nothing to do with their field as long as they had the degree

And the folks without degrees could find jobs that could support a family

This is one of the big difference between the 2 generations.

The older generations are addicted to working long hours just to be able to say they worked long hours

Our generation has a lot of interest outside of work and just ask that the job engages is for 8 hours so we can go do what we want to

Yeah the older generations wants to be paid for "work" while the younger generation wants to be paid for "results"

I'm sure every generation has said this but I'm 28 and I feel like the generation of kids under me are soft as baby thighs.

These young dudes have no attention span due to phones and instant access to everything.

They have no character because they were all given medals for "participating".

They can't handle bullying cuz their hands have been held their entire lives.

When they realize they can't hang in the real world, they shoot up innocent people at schools.

Just a soft-ass generation. Its no wonder they have no work ethic. They've never been challenged.

To those who sais why don't the employers train their employees ...

Do you know what happens as soon as training is over ... the employee looks for another job becasue they have more skills...

I see both sides... Yes these kids feel they are entitled.. I know people who think becasue they went to school and did xyz that the world owes them a job with a minimum salary of x .. and that's not the case. you start at a and have to work towards x..

And we all see this poor work ethic ... how many time have you beenin a store and see the cashier texting ... or talking with slang and having bad attitudes.

I think our idea of "hard" work will have to change over time. Technology is changing how we work and therefore it's not the time you spend at our desk, but how long it takes you to actually complete a given task.

Look at you being all "common sense" about shyt.

Because I can use excel like a beast i get shyt done 3-5x faster than a lot of my peers. If i'm doing the same/more work in less time but take an extra coffee break am i being more or less productive? I used to love when I used to have to charge time to jobs and the PM's would ask why i wasn't billing as many hours as some others. I'd respond with "well cause i'm not a fukin turtle and I like to get shyt done" they'd always tell me to slow down:smile:

what free education? Most places that offer tuition stipulate you have to stay with the company for x numbers of years. If they don't then they fuked up. If the education is experience then the benefit for the employer is to have a competent employee while they have him. Or better yet provide reason for the employee to NOT leave.
