100% Legal. Tipped employees get paid somewhere around 3/4 the minimum wage with the thinking being they can make a lot more with tips but you have to be in a certain type of restaurant to make good money

Last year I went to the same McDonald’s I worked in when I was 17. Had some Mexicans who still worked there . They are apparently swing managers now so I guess they made some progress in the last decade.
