im not a fan of this, but the EPA is a bloated, ineffective federal bureaucracy. from this very article:

Last year, the San Francisco-based environmental law organization Earthjustice sued the EPA for failing to update the standards in a timely manner, a process that the agency launched in 2009 in response to a citizens’ petition. That same year, the EPA acknowledged that the hazard standards might not be sufficiently protective, according to the lawsuit.

In a court declaration responding to the lawsuit, the director of the EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics stated that the agency has continued to study the matter and may not update the standards, if it moves forward to do so, until 2023. :mjlol:

i mean if these fakkits arent even gonna do their job, why should i cape for them because the name of their organization sounds good :heh:. they failed massively in flint, but i bet your ass no one got fired or even demoted

Is there anything the Trump administration does that you won't cape for :scust:

And the EPA wasn't at fault for what happened in Flint, if you think that then you have no idea at all what you're talking about.

well if they couldnt prevent something like flint, then what good are they :heh: why are we funding this program if they can't prevent something like flint? since flint happened, is it fair to say money was wasted? and that no one was fired or held accountable?

i dont even support cutting the EPA :trumpj: i just dont like this bullshyt sentiment that the EPA cannot be cut in any way, shape or form because people think it's some holy fukkin entity because it has 'environment' in the title

Because it wasn't the EPAs decision for them to start using the Flint River as their water source. It was a local/state decision that the EPA had no control over, and if they had tried to stop it people such as Trump (and you) would be bytching about them overstepping their authority and infringing on states' rights. :what:

Trump stans :snoop:

Want to stop lead exposure, get rid of EPA and REGULATION that limits company and owner liability for their products.

So they had contaminated water because lead levels weren't regulated enough, so the solution is to get rid of the EPA and have less regulation? :mindblown:

You know what, nevermind...I give up. :hubie:

Let me see if I have this right
I say removed legal protections and limited liability that companies possess under regulation, the regulation that allowed the contaminated water but protects the regulators from going to jail or having to be financially responsible for every single person they exposed to danger and risk. I say no more protection for the companies behind regulation.

To this you respond saying in effect, the EPA failed, the state regulators failed, the company providing water failed, so the answer isn't to get rid of the companies and bodies that were supposed to prevent this, but failed and continue to fail as they request more and more money and are manned and staffed by former members of the companies they regulate. SMH

I give up

so what are we paying them to do? you havent answered my question

your own fukkin article displays their gross negligence when it comes to lead regulations, before trump even threw his hat into the presidential race :deadjay:

again, the EPA is a massive bureaucracy and i guarantee you that they're right fukking now scrambling to do whatever they can to preserve their own bonuses rather than do whats best for the american people

What imaginary companies and regulations are you even talking about? You just posted a non-sequitur that has nothing to do with what actually happened. :what:

So we get rid of the EPA and get rid of any regulations and nobody is liable for anything since lead levels aren't regulated. How exactly is this supposed to prevent this from happening?

My article? :hhh:

So since the EPA doesn't regulate lead levels sufficiently, we should cut their funding and reduce regulations even more. Ok.
